In person there’s a clear difference between coral and a red bus. Hard to tell if it’s the same from a picture.
I think there should be a bonus prize for someone pictured in the window pretending to hold the giant Monzo card.
This is a great campaign! Love the subtlety. Not in your face like constant YouTube ads a certain other “challenger” bank did. Flying sheds, honestly.
I promise it pops extremely vividly in person!
That would be enough for me to notice it’s not quite the same as usual
But yes, you’re right, this is it!
I’m personally really happy with them. They look great on the streets!
How many buses are you advertising on?
And is this the start of a bigger campaign?
I think it looks excellent and look forward to getting lost in London looking out for it when I’m down.
@jackcully might be willing to discuss how much work goes into creating something like this.
I’m a bit surprised not to see a QR code on there (either to the website, or app store) - not sure whether that would ruin the impact of all the hot coral colouring though! I guess people should just google Monzo though.
Can you imagine people running into the middle of the road just to scan a QR code on a moving bus?
My post was deleted, with no message to me about it, so I guess Monzo are a little touchy about criticism of this campaign!
I don’t think you have to be that close to the bus for it to pick it up? And also, buses are stationary quite a lot of the time (especially in London!)
And people who are that dumb deserve the consequences for doing so
I really like it.
As a Plus subscriber, I haven’t seen the Hot Coral colour for quite a while, so dug out my old card. I forgot how loud it is!
A red that’s even slightly different from the classic London bus red would jump out (to me at least), as it’s hard-coded into Londoners. A Hot Coral bus screaming down a gloomy London road must be extremely eye-catching.
Mea culpa. I’ve messaged you privately to discuss this further.
Indeed if you look at the bus in the background they look like very different colours to me, not that a Londoner needs much to recognise any change at all in the iconic bus colouring.
I’m actually quite excited to see a hot coral bus ngl
I see what you did there.
Is it in the marketing strategy to be more london centric again?
It doesnt grip me and in my limited time in london last weekend for the nfl i seen the tubes were littered with at least 10 different finance companies with graphics of their card and saying they do banking different in some shape or form with a tagline very similar to this.
I feel it could have really been more imaginative and bolder
