Just realised the bank I have the longest Relationship with and probably the best is Bank Of Scotland.

Not even Scottish

You don’t need any Branch Access to open a BOS Account.

I have been with the bank for nearly 6 years now and never visited the branch once. Everything has been done via Online Banking or the App.

Ummm from my personal experience I don’t think Halifax Branches do business with Bank Of Scotland Customers. I could be completely wrong.

But when i tried it, I was told “no!” and to get on the next plane to Edinburgh (not really of course :grinning:)

I don’t it’s like the Natwest Group where you can do business with all their brands under one branch roof.

I think the operations of Lloyds, Halifax and Bank Of Scotland are all seperate.

I opened my BoS current account in 2024 purely for access to their Regular Saver as I had maxed out others.

I was already accessing their app via my Halifax details so was dead easy :grinning:

That is the weird thing.

You can access their services via Halifax App but not the Branch.

But you bank with Starling, supported by the Post office and 24/7 customer care..

That’s his favorite part as he rings them 24/7

I’ve probably used a branch less than 10 times in the last 10 years? Prior to that (and handling mums bereavement not included), maybe a few more occasions but online banking and app banking was nothing near what it is today.

I think you’ll be fine, and this is why branches are a dying breed.

Last time, I used a branch was visiting Lloyds to get some cash out for a plane model from a local market

I can almost with certainty tell you you’ll never be in that situation and is not… sorry but not a reason to open a whole bank account for.

Is there a Welsh bank?

There’s the Development bank of Wales for business lending but sadly no Bank of Wales.

Id have most certainly been born a customer :wales:

Principality? No current accounts though.

Principality is a building society that doesn’t offer current accounts, but savings and mortgages.

Today I learnt it is in fact a Welsh society. :flushed:
