Lloyds Banking Group Chat 🫏

You’d be surprised how efficient they are!

Thank you for clarifying.

Oh I know lol

It has, most of the app is still like this outside of viewing your current account, including view your credit score etc and all the application pages

talking of the website, it looks like it’s had a refresh?

These new cards look OK. I’m not a huge fan of horses in general but it could be worse. I wonder if the card core colour will match.

Lloyds are alright in general, the only thing that put me off them was the constant adverts in the app. Unsure if that’s improved in the new app?

The ads aren’t as prominent but still present.

I say that, the app is white until the orange or green boxes show functions or ads.

Easier to ignore given how bold they are.

All the cards seem visible on here.

How good are Lloyd’s at showing eligibility for things? Overdraft, credit cards, loans etc.

Or is it a matter of just checking via their website? Does your account usage get you anywhere with it.

From experience, your eligibility is normally based on your account usage.

For borrowing such as loans the more account usage and high volume of large value transactions the bigger the borrowing facility will be available to you and the more reasonable
terms e.g the apr will be.

Thanks. I’ve never consider Lloyds but the Silver account with Club Lloyds plus £2 extra off it a month is enticing.

Just not sure if I want to “restart” with a brand new bank relationship. Unless they do value loyalty with mortgages as I’ll be getting on in a year or two.

You got this screen in the borrow tab, I’ve not had my salary in much so it’s still learning I guess.

The overdraft lets me take up to £1k, not sure why it only says £300 there.

Difference between a sort of soft search as shown on that screen Vs a hard search when you actually take the overdraft, credit card, etc. I expect.

When I upgraded to silver earlier it said I can apply up to £1,000.

Will see how it is in a few month.

I keep mentioning about Apple Pay but I’ve weirdly become accustomed to using the physical card no issue.

Also noted when I use contactless at Coop:

Opposed to chip and pin at Coop:

Why is the Co-op’s logo so weird?

Weird bank.

Given the £200 switch offer today thought I’d apply and try Lloyds out a little.

The actual application is pretty slick, tapping my passport cover with my phone to verify was something I’ve only ever done once for an Australian visa so I was impressed. Still don’t love the font but that’s not a big deal.

Oddly the security message at the top of the email isn’t actually right. It states they will show the last 4 digits of my account number but they actually only show 3 digits:

Small matter, granted, but given it’s literally text to assure someone that they are legit there ought to be no errors in it!

Have to wait to access online banking or get my card, and aware that it’s a paid package but I have immediately today got a text saying I’m in an unauthorised overdraft. I assume it’s the fee but it’s a little disjointed given I have no access to online banking or the app to actually see what this is or how much it is. As a new customer I would have liked a week or so before a fee charged to allow the account to be fully set up:

Fee is charged on the same day for everyone across LBG (2nd working day of the month). Of course there’s nothing to stop them skipping the first month as I believe Natwest group do.

I wouldn’t be surprised if a call sees the fee removed.

I called up and to be honest the guy was surprised to see it, saying he never has. He said it would usually be charged towards the end of the first month.

What’s even weird is that it is for 77p. He couldn’t work out why the fee was being charged or why it was that amount.

He couldn’t remove the charge, but said all he could do was file a complaint for me to remove the charge, and he then put £10 goodwill gesture into the account to cover the charge.

Not a great start, but to be fair the guy on the phone said the same thing and apologised.

I read the terms and it’s a weird one. Existing customers are eligible but at the same time it says you need to switch into a newly opened account. So you need to open a second current account? Seems odd.
