It maybe, but I’ve found the location to be more accurate than many other banks.
I forget - can you see other banks/credit cards in the Lloyd’s Bank app?
You can indeed.
Just added Monzo and they’ve really tidied it up too, and has a “Balance including pots: “ section which is decent.
There’s also now an add money feature to move funds in from linked accounts.
Does that include Amex? Effectively that’s the only one I’d want to see in it.
I hate the font but something it wanting me to try to use Lloyd’s
Amex is there in the list.
Doesn’t seem to work with HSBC for some reason though, been trying for a couple of weeks now and it just fails
HSBC current account added fine.
Looks like it pulls the merchant name as the bank has it opposed to Lloyds formatting it as some HSBC are all caps.
HSBC’s open banking has been broken for weeks.
Edit: oh actually yeah try again now, I’ve finally been able to re-add mine in Monzo just now.
Mines been broken with Natiowide for weeks too. Just get an wrror
I can successfully add HSBC in Monzo but the following day it says it needs renewing and has disconnected. HSBC has continued to work fine in Emma.
Hm, mine disconnected weeks ago and could only reconnect it earlier today, will see if it disconnects again.
EDIT for clarity: I can only link one Amex (and one more if you are supplementary on someone else’s card) due to the xxxx xxxx xxxx 1234 card number used which is the same for any of my cards, and I thought Amex differentiate cards by the middle six numbers. If you try swapping between cards you’ll break it, as I have done.
I have 2 Amex cards and the last 4 digits are different on each card? If that’s what you mean?
Amex integration totally broke for me, I have two Amex accounts that I can’t remove and support don’t know how to either.
I don’t even have an Amex card any more! Haven’t had for a long time.
Not sure where this comes from - I have 3 Amex cards in Monzo and they all show the number I’d expect.
I’ve got several personal Amex cards and they all say e.g 1234 xxxxxx 12345, where only the middle bit is different, and my partner’s cards are the same numbering format for them, so I assumed that was normal for Amex - maybe it’s different for others?. Probably not open banking then, but specifically LBG seem to only pull through the last 4 digits of the card and have a hissy fit if I try to link another with seemingly the same number
My two cards are XX00X. None of the X’s match the other card.
Someone here was able to explain quite well what a lot of the numbers meant previously. @projectfortytwo maybe?
So a weird thing happen today with Lloyds, transferring money across to HSBC.
On two occasions after clicking transfer it came up with a password box asking for my password but the transfer went across anyway.
I actually think the Lloyds app is nicer than HSBC and is slightly more featured, will be interesting to see how much I notice the differences.
I think you mean this post.
I don’t know if the same holds true for newer credit card products but it may do. My accounts date back to 1990 and the current Platinum charge card to about 2001.
When I got my account, BIN 3742 was UK GBP charge cards. 3742 8 was a subset of that for Gold/Platinum within which 3742 88 was Platinum when it was still invitation only and had a similar rarity value to the current Centurion.
I suspect I got my “by invitation only” Platinum card around the time they were trying to persuade some Platinum people to upgrade to Centurion, and were flogging Platinum to existing Gold cardholders. The reason I suspect this is that my Platinum card was 3742 82 (not 3742 88).
Edit: digits 13 and 14 are the number of the card on the account so 00 for the primary card. My supplementary and additional cards are up to 05 now and I can have one more for free. But the business accounts used to allow up to 99 supplementary cards - and after that they’d have run out of digits.
