Just another Lloyds gripe.
So they ran a promotion at the beginning of the year that if you open a savings account and maintain a balance of Ā£2,000 for 6 months theyāll give you Ā£100. A good deal, right?
So I did just as they said, opened a savings account, complied with all their terms of the offer. Weāre now coming up to about 2 months after I should have been awarded the cashback.
I contacted them via chat, useless, they persistently referred to the monthly £10 cashback and thought I was mistaken. Even after showing them the link from their own website, still not enough
So I called, first person said ok let me just look into this, then after sitting on hold, cut me off. So I called back and spoke to someone else who ācheckedā and told me the reason I didnāt get the cashback is because I held a savings account with Lloyds previously about 4 years ago.
The terms are clear:
1.1 be an existing Lloyds Premier Current Account customer who does not currently hold a savings account with Lloyds Bank in your name (Sole or Joint) at the date you apply for the savings account
But hey, what do I know.
So in summary I was told, Iām not eligible and thatās final, despite the guy reading the terms line by line and I pointed him specifically to 1.1 and him acknowledging that yes I did comply with the conditions.
I was ready to just empty the account and move on from Lloyds, but then I thought to make a complaint, which wasnāt too onerous, then lo and behold, the cashback lands in my account late last night.
Battling with your bank for an offer they approach you with and you meet all the eligibility requirements is pretty crazy.
Iād be interested to know whether anyone here was offered this, and you got your pay out.
