Kroo Bank Chat

South Eastern friends?

That makes more sense :joy:

I suppose Barclays is trying hard with what they’ve got. But they might have decided, at a strategic level, that it might be cheaper and quicker to acquire someone else if the fit and price is right. Regrettably shop floor SEs (I’m getting with the lingo) would probably be the last to know. :frowning:

They’re expecting 500,000 sign ups by the end of next year…?

Probably less. They plant 10 trees for you and your referral if someone uses your link. On top of both receiving ÂŁ10.

Easily achieved for 1mil trees. Not sure how many customers they have/had already from their prepaid card venture prior.

I was literally thinking about that this morning  maybe even better savings rates on pots than main account balance.

Android app really needs some love though. Seems so clunky for me and takes it’s time to do anything.

Just really likes to take it’s time doing anything.

My favourite loading screen, albeit online like that two seconds but it still annoys me. At least build the full frame.

Not sure how to do video shares here but it isn’t encouraging to use.

Think this should work?

Doesn’t seem clunky in the vid, typical. I did have to press twice on some occasions to make it do stuff.

What’s a memory leak?

I was also thinking the same about the Pots. I suggested it via their in app button but got the standard ‘we’ve passed it to the right team’ lol

I’d never blame RAM issues as it’s only kroo it happens with. My phone is pretty much empty  and have a habit of clearing things running all the time.

Don’t have hands on a newer iOS device to see the difference.

Memory leaks can be why your phone or computer gets sluggish over time and why after a reboot it’s usually much snappier (and is why IT admins often recommend restarting your machine weekly). Can be interesting on a desktop computer to view how much memory is in use, restart and open everything up as it was before, and it’ll use far less memory than it was, then creep up again over time. Memory leaks can be more obvious when something is being stored a lot more than it should (i.e. recursively). Can sometimes see it with app updates where it’s suddenly super slow and then they do another update and it’s back to normal.

Thank you. Perfectly explained.

Brilliant explanation.

To add two absolutely crucial words relating to memory leak / badly implemented code - ‘uninitialised variables’

You DO NOT want uninitialised variables in ANY code. They run away with what the F they want -creating a TRON’ish result :desktop_computer::robot:

Sent Kroo a message earlier through the app and then closed it waiting for a reply.

Just went to open the app, before I even entered my fingerprint there was a pop up for the autoreply message which let me open it, and read the current and previous messages I’d sent to Kroo without passing security :eyes:

Have raised this with them also.

Makes me think about their security methods, though I wasn’t able to view my account or other information.

Tried an instant bank transfer this afternoon after being approved this morning.
Now it was only £10 from an account in my name but it was flagged for fraud and wasn’t transferred for 3 hours - at least Algbra works quicker than this.

Tried Monzo but it kept failing with a red banner saying it couldn’t process. Let’s hope this is just gremlins.

My monzo app flickers on loading which is recent? Not too sure.

I’d guess merchant info loading but still catch it every time.

Eek! I’ll agree with this point though, I’ve done two with Algebra and these went through fine.

Kroo looks really cool but I just can’t buy into the UI, looks like something a child drew to me.

It’s the transactions that flicker.

Wonder if it’s something from being ex staff account. I miss loading on to accounts view not transaction list
