Is it necessary to give titles when providing bank details?

Hi all,

Just a general Q in the world of confirmation of payee.

I’m providing bank details for a non Monzo account. The card has Title Initial Surname (Mr J Bloggs), the Statement has Title Forename Surname (Mr Joseph Bloggs).

When I do confirmation of payee it says just forename surname (Joseph Bloggs). What do people provide to employers or the like these days. Is forename surname the advisable approach? It seems like this is the new standard and Mr is not required?

I feel in some ways this adds more confusion than anything - bet anything went before and or that still works but it plants a seed of doubt.

For reference I (and Joe!!) have no middle name.

I never provide the title, and never enter it.

I don’t provide the title. People can assume and put whatever.

I don’t think it’s as important (or at all) in the bank’s system to match the title as is matching the name and surname(s).

Thanks both. I’m going to just provide my forename and surname
