Investor/Early Adopter & Monzo Plus

Exactly :ok_hand:

Shareholders usually do not want freebies, instead they want to maximize revenue and profits. Every fanboy, early adopter / investor, should be charged a special price of £6.50 a month for half the features. They will complain, yet still sign up. Cash in on them.

I don’t think you get my points at all, there really is no point in trying to start a healthy discussion on here if all you want to do is pick holes.

I agree and that’s all I was saying. Thank you for seeing my point, sassily some people seem to want to hijack forums and argue all the time rather than see it as a constructive way to interact, like you have tried to do. Tff had sunk you.

I can buy currency on Revolut when the price is good and then spend on my card using that currency, rather than a typical bank card which converts the purchase at the time. It seems a much better way to me.

Rob. It is just not worth it. Some people just want to be rude or argue. This is why I avoid forums. There are some awful people here. Sarcasm and insults like “fanboys”. You are correct. Some people just want to argue for the sake of it. I call them the forum junior school mafia. This is my opinion.

Thanks for your reply Seb, I just will ignore this forum from now on as much as I would like to form part of the discussion on all aspects of Monzo. Take care.

Arguing your point of view isn’t a bad thing, as long as it doesn’t get heated. I wouldn’t say this thread has gotten heated. If you can’t discuss alternative viewpoints I don’t see much point in forums.

Yet you joined this one only 16 hours ago :man_shrugging:

What do you think of perks for investors? Could they be improved?

But you didn’t answer - what do you think of perks for investors? Could they be improved? That is kind of what the topic is about.

If you hate forums yet joined this one specifically to chime in complaining but have no thoughts on the topic at hand, I think that says more about you than anyone else. It is almost like you are a sock puppet.

So - what are you thoughts on Plus perks for investors?

I’ve come full circle on this and agree investors shouldn’t expect perks. But I don’t see the harm in Rob’s shout for a free trial of the plus account and why there is such strong pushback to that idea. In fact it would probably help get more users onboard with Plus.

On a side note, I only started posting on here yesterday - why when you reply to someone direct, does it only sometimes show who you are replying to. Is that a bug I should log somewhere?

I absolutely think there should be a trial of Plus. In a way there sort of is via the cooling off period although this isn’t a very user-friendly way to facilitate a trial. I think there should be a proper trial mechanism but don’t think it should be limited to Investors.

It makes it obvious who you’ve posted to when you reply to a post that isn’t the last in the thread but doesn’t make it obvious when you reply to the last post.

It’s not a bug but is just the way Discourse (the forum platform) works. I agree its annoying.

Thank you, I don’t think I ever said investors should get them for free only that maybe an incentive for those who had invested might have been a good idea. After all, if the take up for Plus is relatively small then I’m sure the extra revenue generated might be welcome and in turn bring more people in to using Monzo more. I need to keep my Lloyd’s account (£28 per month) running for another year and then I will move full time to Monzo but I do use the account and put money into it. I don’t find Plus wholly attractive at the moment but with a discount or free period I would be inclined to use it and just leave my Lloyd account ticking over.

Ah got you. Sort of makes sense, just thought it wasn’t working for me. thx

Would you pay £5 for the card (for a three month trial) to at least cover tangible costs?

Honestly, I hate the card thing. I never took up my investor card option either, waste of everyone’s time and money. I’d rather just keep my current one, we need to stop producing more crap in this world.

Edit - though I just did say in another thread I’d pay £5 for a card with a dead golden goose on it.

crikey Rob what do you get for £28 a month , I baulked at £15 at the co-op

Oh that is true, the tangible cost would be £0 if the existing card was kept for it.

I’m not particularly bothered by the card but yes, I would happily pay to cover costs. On a side note I once wanted a metal card (not necessarily from Monzo) but now I’m really not interested in one as the vast majority of my spending is done via Apple Pay.
