Thanks. Was only looking at the top of the Payments tab.
Wasnât aware it was also in the Pay and Split Bill sections.
Someone just told you itâs an issue.
It doesnât go full brightness for me either. I posted my screenshot the other day:
Is that the official Monzo position on accessibility?
No, because they donât work for Monzo.
No because I donât work for Monzo.
Iâm sympathetic to your cause, but I find these things work better if you get people on-side rather than taking a confrontational approach.
But Iâm speaking for myself only.
Just to be clear, nobody who has replied to your comment works for Monzo.
Could you provide more detail on exactly what the problem is. Everyone so far has been unable to reproduce what youâre saying. It would help Monzo too when they see it.
Do you have any suggestions for a better approach?
Perhaps a direct button to âShare Linkâ within âRequest Moneyâ would help (instead of having to go via the QR code button)?
I can reproduce it.
To generate a link (which I think is what @rl92 needs to do) you need to either tap the new QR icon or go to âRequest moneyâ and tap âBy QR code or linkâ. When I do that, the brightness of my screen increases and I suspect it would be painful for someone with photosensitivity.
I think a fix would be to have two options there instead, one for QR code and one for a link.
Iâve just seen a comment from earlier that it goes to full brightness so that the QR code can be easily scanned.
An option of one or the other would therefore solve this.
I doubt it was intentional so while I understand the frustration from the OP, the approach could have been better.
The responses on this forum are pretty shameful. Look what happens if someone with a disability highlights an accessibility issue. They are told to give up, no one else has a problem and stop being âconfrontationalâ.
Fancy. Itâs almost as though you couldnât hear it until you said it yourself âŠ
Hereâs the thing. Youâve made a good point but my feedback is that youâve gone about it the wrong way.
Youâve assumed bad intent and have managed to alienate people instead of bringing them on-side.
This genuinely looks like an issue, but my very sincere advice to you is that youâll get further if you are constructive, rather than confrontational. And yes, I used that latter word advisedly.
On Android (for me at least) both routes lead to an increase in brightness.
Doesnât increase brightness for me either.
The old contactsâhashing privacy method was very well described on this very forum, once upon a time.
Your link is very easy to construct from scratch in a message, maybe consider just typing it out as a workâaround? Hope Monzo sorts things out for you.
monzo.me/[your username]
for any amount (can be adjusted by sender)
monzo.me/[your username]/100
would send through ÂŁ100
Both routes make it brighter for me as well on Android.
Youâd think another phone would be fine with normal brightness?
Still canât replicate the brightness thing on my Android either. Maybe itâs because Iâm in dark mode
