Introducing Monzo Flex – a better way to pay later 🚀

Infrastructure problems, I imagine.

Aha- I could have sworn I saw a mention but after quickly flicking through the thread + FAQs there’s no mention… Maybe I’m going insane. Anyhow, hopefully it is on the cards!

As an individual not sure of the long-term impacts of increasing the amounts of low cheap credit.

As an investor - I’m happy to profit from other people’s behaviour so hopefully will work out well for Monzo.

I would expect you to save on interest on subsequent months if you paid more in one payment. I can’t think it would work any other way given it’s APR.

Me neither

I’m wondering if (/hoping) you can use Flex for larger holds that’ll never come out of your account. Think car rental / hotel deposits.

That makes me wonder: how does it work for pending transactions that don’t convert to real ones? Presumably there’ll be instant notifications and you can do all the credit stuff immediately…

So much to learn!

Breaking news: Monzo pay so poor that even their own staff don’t qualify for the products. Read all about it in the telegraph…

For 8 days too!

Dan, I’ll buy you a pizza for dinner in exchange for secrets.

Not a physical card, though - which I think was being mooted above.

Small point but big shame virtual isn’t there for launch.

That’s what I saw! Must have gotten a little excited and assumed a standalone physical card. Virtual is probably more than enough anyhow, use Apple Pay 99% of the time anyway!

It might be, as this hasn’t actually launched yet.

Nope it’s private

Looks like someone pressed the button too early :grimacing:

you know what my favourite feature of this is? When everyone gets onto the monzo flex waiting list the entire platform doesn’t suddenly die. those infrastructure engineers sure know what they are doing!!!

It’s a shame there’s nobody on here who works in that dept or we’d all give them so much praise and probably buy them sweets and chocolates and gold.

Big shame.

hmmm we can flex existing purchases… thats cool. Curve also do something like this (and thats ok) ?

Do you get any perks for being staff? Like free premium or something?

I always assumed a bank would be quite happy to have credit products for staff given they know their income.

I defaulted on a credit card not too long ago so I think it’s actually quite okay that I do not have Flex, I would certainly not loan me money looking at my history
