Last few months it has been one payment at the end of the month, around the same day but not exactly
I get paid from a Monzo business account and initially had been payed into a 3rd party account (RBS) then transferred into monzo but when I started going Monzo->Monzo I applied again a couple of months or so later and got the cap of £6K
Super late to the game here as I’ve only just read this page but Flex Build should be called Pre-flex
Will Monzo atleast be reporting my income from my business account so others can verify my income? I only have one monzo record on my credit file but have both business sole-trader and personal
@TomMills I got this text earlier today (I’ve removed the payment amount)
A friendly reminder that we’ll take your next Flex payment of £xxx.xx on 25 July. You didn’t choose a plan for 1 purchase. So we chose the lowest monthly instalment. There’s still time to change this to avoid paying interest.
The reference to 1 purchase without a plan selected is incorrect. I’ve set the default plan to be pay in full. And the payment to be taken is the full amount so the bit about lowest monthly installments is completely inaccurate.
Credit card limits are often higher than you might get offered through Flex. I’d imagine how much limit you get on Flex depends on how you use the account and their risk appetite.
@TomMills not sure if the two situations are linked, but I’ve been waiting for the release of a hold for a hire car. This morning the hold shows a refund attached to it but it still says it’s a hold and I’ve had no notification to say it was released or Indeed a normal notification to say a transaction has happened. The hold now has a £0.00 value against it
@Chris_R great investigation from you… made the job really easy for us! The logic for that notification was considering holds as a normal purchase without a plan selected, which is why you received it. We’re going to fix it today.
Thanks again for taking the time to flag the issue and sharing all that context.
Awesome, thank you @TomMills
Will that also remove that hold transaction from my account? I’m assuming if it’s showing as a ‘refund’ I should actually have got a 'hold removed ’ message instead and the hold should no longer show
The payment reminder notification issue is now fixed. On the hold itself, that’s going to take a bit more thought on how to fix. Some transactions are effectively skipping a step when they lapse at 30 days, which means they aren’t being marked as settled in the app.
But it’s on our radar now and we’ll work on a solution ![]()
Awesome thanks again.
Glad it’s on the radar. Hopefully you’ll work your Monzo magic soon ![]()
I’ve an ongoing complaint with Monzo over their refusal to increase my Flex limit and refusal to give an adequate explanation beyond some nonsense about they don’t like how I’m running my accounts!
The Flex card is a very good product which I want to use more, but as things stand, I will be terminating my relationship with Monzo on 31/7/24 unless this is sorted. They know this. It’s entirely in their hands to resolve.
Good luck with that.
As things stand they are under no obligation to offer you any credit or give any explanation so it would appear that they have gone over and above their obligations.
You will probably only succeed if you can show that they have treated you unfairly or unlawfully, so having evidence of that will help you.
I’m under no obligation to continue to use them as my banking provider.
Sacking them today sounds a very good idea
Actually I raised it because Monzo themselves suggested I did, so “their processes could be reviewed”!
Fine I’ll sack them now.
Good riddance Monzo

Apologies if this has been discussed anywhere else. But. Are there any plans on being able to add a partner who I share a joint account with to my Flex. Or. A joint flex account?
It’s been referred to a few times (JA Flex) but nothing more than a few posts here and there where monzo have been “looking into it”.
Ordinarily and especially with joint accounts I’d be inclined to trot out @Revels line of “Never going to Happen”. But this trend has bucked recently so who knows.
@TheoGibson might (or not) be able to update further next week
