Introducing Extra, Perks and Max

Signed up to FlexPlus over the weekend. Was really debating not having another bank account but decided to keep my HSBC (I’ve had it since i was 15) and just got another account. I really wanted go to Monzo Max but most of the benefits like lounge access, insurance etc were already covered by my AMEX. FlexPlus worked out the best - the same detail cover on Monzo was working out £22 a month, looking forward to the nationwide card :pray:t4:

I would recommend keeping your HSBC account open anyway as having a long standing account is good for your credit report.

Am I reading this wrong or something?

4.35 is less than 4.60?

See:

This new rate make these new paid tiers less and less attractive. Perhaps if they introduce the interest rate to Extra

Free and Extra will go down to 3.85%

I hope they change the price of the paid tiers to reflect this other wise it just isn’t worth it.

Any news on this? I still can’t see my Equifax report on Monzo (and unlike others I should have and have had for years a quite straightforward address …)

We rolled out these improvements fully a few weeks ago, so if yours is still not showing there might be another issue. If you’re happy for us to take a look at your account, PM me the email address you’re registered with and we can see if there are any obvious reasons we’re not getting a match back.

In other news…

Some of you will notice we’ve just enabled notifications for credit insights! :tada: This means you’ll now get real-time updates on hard searches on your TransUnion credit file, daily updates on new or closed accounts, and weekly updates when your credit score changes or you’ve completed a credit-boosting action.

We’re excited to ship this along with some fine-grained preferences to allow you to choose exactly which updates you want to receive. I’m personally really pleased about the practically instant notifications for hard searches, which gives me peace of mind in case anyone ever applies for a lending product in my name.

Would love to hear any feedback you have on this, or to help answer any questions!

Plus - watch this space for more credit insights improvements :soon: :eyes:

Sorry to interrupt the announcement

Has there always been a 55p up charge on hot drinks? I usually go for the treats instead.

The T&Cs do suggest any extras are payable but also say speciality drinks are included, I just got a normal syrup

That would be more arguably be more expensive to Greggs so it’s weird to me the regular flavoured drinks wouldn’t be included, but thank you

Made the decision to cancel Max Family after being notified of the reduction in interest. I will be switching to Extra as I still need virtual cards, sheet export and connected accounts but the stuff from Perks and Max are just not doing it for me anymore.

Me and my partner have just opened a joint Nationwide FlexPlus account since everyone here has been giving high praises about so we still have the insurances cover but for a much more affordable price.

Monzo really need to look at the Nationwide Joint account premium offering as that is the gold standard now for packaged accounts

For you…

I’d guess the target market probably isn’t family/couple types.

Even with the kid account coming, I’d say its market is still the younger crowd.

Phone, travel, breakdown and rail, with a free sausage roll? Sold mate.

I’d agree, if the railcard component was actually usuable in any way to a 30-60 year old solo traveller. The only option available in that demographic is a TwoTogether railcard.

This argument has been done to death. These OPTIONAL packaged accounts don’t suit everyone.

Not everyone needs Greggs (well…), not everyone needs breakdown cover, travel insurance etc.

If it’s a fit for you then all the best, if not then :person_shrugging:

… choose one that is, have a look at FlexPlus maybe

Works for families and it’s £9 cheaper than monzo for the essentials.

Breakdown cover by AA includes almost everything (not too different to RAC).

The Lloyds Silver is rubbish in comparison.

It includes onward travel tho, the next most expensive one to include that is Natwest Platinum (which is £7/month more, with a possible £3 reduction) and much worse mobile phone insurance.

This is one of the thing which makes Nationwide’s the gold standard IMO, as well as cover for the whole household (not just account holders) on all insurances.
