I’m doing thte extact same mate haha, waiting until the 1st
Downgrading from Plus to Extra and one of the things I lose is a “17% investment fee discount”
Does anyone have a real world example of what this is/would be in real money terms? I only have £100 in there anyway, so I’m not against closing it completely.
Hi Jon, I’m a designer that’s been working on this new experience - thanks for sharing!
How we onboard you to make the most of the features included in your new plan is something we’ve put a lot of thought into and will continue to develop. Like your thinking on how we can build on the new Credit Insights feature.
Oh wow - The Partner offers here are immense value - Headspace subscription alone would be worth it
Ref Railcard, does that Include Veterans railcard?. I have just renewed mine which is valid for 3 years. So when I comes to renewal which that be included.
Same. If the railcard was available to everybody I would have smashed that upgrade button. Now I just have to live with it judging me from the top of the screen every time I open the app.
Partly agree, partly disagree.
I agree that Monzo can’t do right for doing wrong - and I also don’t blame the limited engagement back from Monzo (we are all humans and how would you feel being happy about something you’re proud of being flamed online (some fair, some just generally negative))
Partly disagree - Constructive criticism absolutely should be placed in the thread, key word being constructive. Otherwise how can they improve. Might have misunderstood?
Shame you cant get Armed Forces rail cards online…
I’m talking about one which is comparable to the other U.K. wide cards.
Question on the Greggs treat. I selected it in app, scanned the QR code to get my Vegan Sausage roll and everything was fine but there is nothing in app to say I have redeemed my treat for this week. I still have the QR code in app
Can we have a lot more detail on the railcard offer please - I’m 64 and wife is 66 but I thought we could buy a two together railcard from Trainline - also how does it work in practice? Can we get a physical card in case our phone battery dies?
The most accurate post of this entire thread.
#NeverAgain
This would be better if I could do it on my joint account, much as I can see the benefits can be shared.
We don’t get data back from Greggs until the next morning, so only then can we update your app to show you’ve used the QR code
Wow this thread has been busy busy! Thank you Monzo for looking at Plus/Premium and engaging so many customers. I’m glad you are working on feedback from such a broad pool, it must’ve been hard so I hope it pays off!
For me personally I think I’m going to stick with plus and then downgrade to extra once I’ve done some savings rate maths.
Since we don’t get interest on our regular pots anymore and I have to bung everything in one savings account anyway I don’t think it actually matters. (I can use a third party for savings) I suspect I’m only paying for virtual cards and custom categories now.
I’ve just changed from Plus to Perks really because of the railcard. But taken in the round (for me) it’s a great upgrade and ![]()

to Monzo.
@rossmonzo With club Lloyds, if we have disney+ already then we open the account, AFAIK we can get a pro-rata refund. I currently hold a 3 year railcard, so perks isn’t really worth it for me yet. However, if we could get a pro-rata refund and then switch to the railcard version, it’d be worth it. Just a thought.
That’s probably not enough to keep me.
Yes, very true!
Down we go…
Exciting news for me!
Previously was paying £13/m for FlexPlus for the travel & breakdown cover and £5/m for Plus, just to have the connected accounts.
For me - a no-brainer to cancel FlexPlus and upgrade to Max, saving £1.
Obviously, I could have moved to Extra and saved a bit extra, but the weekly Greggs makes it worth it, and my 18-25 Railcard is coming up to expire soon, so I made a ‘saving’ there.
The only potential con is RAC rather than AA, which on most accounts seems to be much more reliable, but luckily haven’t ever had to use breakdown cover.
Never relied on the phone cover and purchased AppleCare anyway.
Look forward to receiving my new card - great work Monzo!
