That’s the exact reason why you shouldn’t use Monzo (or any other debit card) for booking flights (or making any other big payments online). Debit cards are not covered by Section 75.

What exactly is this?

Sections 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. It’s stating that for any purchases between £100 and £30,000 made by a credit card, the creditor (the bank who issued a credit card) is jointly and severally liable to the debtor (cardholder).

Exactly why I use AmEX for big purchases - points and easier for chargeback if anything happens :slight_smile:

Just to add, only a small amount needs to be spent on the credit card and the credit card company is still liable for the full amount
