Ah. I misread it. I thought Starling were buying all @anon95680666 beer. £1000 a year would be a bargain in my case.
Just a public service announcement that there is a thread to discuss specific Starling Feedback
If we continue to go round in circles and off topic I’m afraid I will have to this
Revolut becomes first UK app-only bank to break even | The Independent | The Independent
The firm’s closest peers including Monzo, Starling Bank and Tandem, which all have British banking licenses, told Reuters they had not yet seen a month without losses.
I’ve had no official notification of this from Monzo. But if that’s the case that’s a very great step forward and an appealing feature to have. Well done
@anon41219820 Can you please confirm pay at pump works with Monzo…
Monzo has worked for me at pay @ pump since about November
IIRC it was the pre-paid that had problems at pay-at-pump, but I’ve never had any issues with the current account card.
Even more reason to have the best package to attract the most numbers to make the most successful Bank. When a Fintech Has three or 4 million members they would definitely return A profit I should imagine. So surely it’s about the best offering? Speculate to accumilate.
Well - Monzo has 564,895 customers (live counter on their homepage) - whereas Starling is estimted to have ~100,000-150,000 customers. And Monzo’s customer base is growing ~2000-2500 per day.
Just to note that I use both - but Monzo wins it for me due to their transparency.
Also, I agree with your statement in general. I just think that Mnzo is a bit behind because they chose to do more in-house than Starling.
Thanks Beth!
The absolute number one priority right now is building a sustainable business model. If we can’t do that, then like any company, we will not be able to continue operating. Crowdfunding investors like you would lose their investment, we would lose our jobs, and our customers would be massively inconvenienced. This is a wholly avoidable scenario, but it means we have to cut unnecessary costs.
When and only when we’ve done this can we divert 100% of our attention to building amazing features and reaching our full potential
all will be revealed as to the success of your efforts, and Starlings efforts at every year end but seeing as you are probably both on different business strategies it will take a few years to see how successful each path has ( or hasn’t) been
- hopefully both the former
- strange how we don’t have these conversations as to whether Lloyds will triumph over Barclays ( insert your own bank there
)
