That’ll be bad as if a criminal is committing fraud it’ll let them know that monzo are onto them.
The Monzo exec that authorised this would likely find themselves on the receiving end of a lengthy prison sentence.
Green = You’re great at scamming people, good job.
Orange = You’re getting a bit giddy at scamming people best keep an eye on things
Red = Cut back on scamming people you’re going to get caught!
Damn actually made me giggle loudly and people in the room stared at me thinking “what you laughing at”
You could incorporate it into the left to spend chart
“It looks like you’re being too fraudy this month”
Hahaha
Everything I expected was delivered by this thread. Four stars
Just don’t buy or sell any
@Anon61828928 that’s not a best solution . If people are interested, they will buy/sell crypto
I wouldn’t give up on crypto only because one of my banks is not friendly to it
I simply would switch to another bank and that’s it
Looks like you are focusing only on ‘‘scammers’’, but not main customers
I am not keen to get my account frozen only because auto-bot flagged my account. Still need a human being to finalize the account investigation process
You’re missing the point. Banks aren’t allowed to tip off scammers. A warning system would tip off scammers. Unfortunately this trumps any other class of customer. And it’s not because any bank wants to do it that way, but because they are legally obliged to do so.
You completely miss the point, they’re not allowed by law to do this. It would break the tipping off laws.
Surely if Monzo wrote that it would say “Looks like your frauding is too overt…”
Throw in some sort of emoji too.
It doesn’t matter what is said at any point in this conversation. You can’t stop them or take actions with the intention of stopping them because regardless of what anybody says here, no one actually knows why Monzo closes accounts without notice.
- it could be crypto related
- it could be a change in your usual deposit patterns such as lose a job and claim in JSA
- it could be they suspect business use
- or it could simply be that they don’t like you.
Either way I wouldn’t give it a second thought. Keep operating your account, keep a back up bank account just to be on the safe side and go about your day
I use my account normally, I get paid and I pay my bills.
I am still scared they will close my account though.
That’s the same as any bank, so you might as well just stuff all the money under your mattress.
This isn’t universal to Monzo
As was pointed out to you there is literally nothing you can do about it, because nobody knows what causes the account closures. Why worry about some think you have no control over?
That would worry me because what happens if the house burns down or someone steals the mattress. That’s are a things that are within our control, Account closures are not
Then you’re going to need to live with your fear, or deal with it.
