Freebies continued
Free Metro ballpoint. Takes Parker sized refills so can interchange into Parker for a cheap refill. Writes OK so can use in its own right. Metro, when they opened a local branch gave out some handy, reusable & strong shopping bags which I’ve had for some time. Any other freebies?
Had to visit my local branch for the first time in SO LONG to pay in a cheque and some cash. It’s been gutted of everything but a front desk and some pay-in machines. So that lines up with how I use banks now but sucks for people that rely on cash and counters.
I live in a decent sized town as well so it’s a bit weird.
They’re better used as pens though I guess they are can useful for opening beers. I’d recommend carrying a Swiss Army Knife for that eventuality 
Just to say I’ve just returned from Skiathos in Greece and the Global Money card worked flawlessly.
I can’t tell you what the difference was from earlier this year, maybe HSBC did some clever back end improvements.
Well finally I’ve come up against a problem with the betas and the app. It had to happen sometime.
I’ve just realised that since Wednesday I’ve not had a notification. Across iPhone and iPad. Even delete restart and reinstall hasn’t fixed it.
Ah well, I’m sure they’ll sort it soon enough. They’ve been working super reliably ever since I moved here around February.
My notifications are working fine so far, fingers crossed that remains.
Checked in chat, apparently there is a “technicals issue” with them at the moment. Strangely the chat push notifications worked just fine.
Same here. 4 DDs went out this morning and not one notification. I transferred £100 to Tandem as a test and that didn’t elicit a notification, either. Throughout the day, the list of notifications in the app slowly populated with the 4 DDs and the Tandem transfer but there were no push notifications at all.
Glad it’s not just me, anyway!
Yes, I normally get them but nothing. I also noticed it when I used my card and didn’t get the notification instantly.
Be interesting to see if this is just a glitch or as a result of them upgrading the system to include Global Money etc
Where are you seeing the error message - when you tap the bell icon in the app? I’m not seeing that myself and the list of notifications is now up to date, but still no push notifications on either iPhone or iPad.
When I asked on the in-app chat I just got the usual response about checking notification settings & rebooting, etc. Depends who you get, I guess…
When I click on the bell, yes. Normally I’d see a list of transactions there which I don’t. Not getting any in app either.
Can see pending transactions straight away and everything else is working. Just not the notifications element.
I think it’s the latest beta for me plus any technical issues they might be having.
Not to fussed, everything else working as it should be but would like them back at some stage.
Right. I’m seeing the list of transactions there but they are hours late. Not getting the push notifications, though.
I’m putting this down to the latest iOS beta, at least for me this is when they stopped working.
They have been as instant as yours up until this point. Now, correlation != causation of course so might be a slightly wider issue but it’s the only one thing I can think.
Even a delete/restart/reinstall and reset of phone didn’t resolve it.
I’m latest beta, though I don’t use my account so can’t say if there were issues over the past few days.
The plot thickens 
I’m latest beta and still no transaction notifications, just used my card and nada. It’s there in pending though.
Must be rolling out the fix, I’d imagine.
Wonder if it’s a clash/issue with amount of products you have? I’m solely investment account and bank account so not much processing involved maybe.
