Hello! I can see that, with Monzo Extra, I should be able to assign multiple categories to a transaction. But I can’t figure out how to do this. When I select edit category, there is no clear option to assign multiple categories. It’s also not possible to select more than one category at a time (I’ve added a screenshot). I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but to no avail. What am I missing??
Pull the page down a bit. I have a “Pick more than one” toggle at the top, but I think you have to pull it down once and then it stays uncovered.

Selecting multiple categories works with:
- Monzo Personal Account
- Flex
- Connected Accounts
It does not work with:
- Monzo Joint account
I’m not sure about Business Accounts as I don’t have one.
Ah this is the answer - it’s a joint account. Sad!

Hi Monzo. Please can you widen the ability to assign multiple categories for a single transaction to joint accounts? I’m a ‘Perks’ subscriber, but this is the sort of thing that makes me wonder whether it’s worth it for me. What I want is to be able to accurately track spending. Thanks.
Only started 4 days ago with Monzo as a joint spending account (with pots, budgeting and tracking) and already hit a major roadblock…
How is it even “allowed” to not enable the multiple categories feature for joint accounts?
