Can anyone advise how I close an under 16 account? I have created two by accident and need to close one. No card ordered or anything on the 2nd one but can’t find an option in the app. Thank you!

Pretty sure you’re allowed multiple as otherwise you’d have to pick your favourite child to get an account ![]()
I did wonder if I could switch one to another child…hadn’t planned to give them an account yet but could. But that option doesn’t seem to exist either.
I meant surely they have different names/birthdays though.
Though now I’m thinking completely on a tangent that theoretically it’s possible for two people to be born on the same day and live together and have the exact same name and how would a bank deal with that. If they ever have.
This would usually be picked up in Bizops for verification if it was a current account, unsure if the process aligns to child accounts though.
Who knows how Monzo do the validation but I’d guess it would allow multiple accounts for the same birthday to cover twins/triplets etc. You’d hope they would have different names but who knows ![]()

You can set up a U16 Monzo account without an email address.

I’ve only activated one U16 account, when they first launched, and from what I remember an email was required at the time.
My middle one (whose account was set up in December) doesn’t have an email address attached to his account - maybe it did become optional after the initial launch.
