What if, though, I have one or more parties who I pay in euros?

I’ve cash in a savings pot and currently I’ve got to request (and wait for) the cash to withdraw from the savings pot and then initiate the international transfer.

If I could just ask " pay the sum of €y" In the relevant pot, and let Monzo do the request for funds and place the payment on Wise when the cash arrives… that would be magical.

Is it possible to mark a past transaction to spend from a pot and that change will immediately take effect, or will the change only apply to new transactions moving forward?

Currently, it will only apply to new transactions moving forward.

1. In the “Manage” tab of the Pot you want to set up, tap “Spend from this Pot”.
2. Choose what kind of transactions (by category or merchant) should be made from the Pot. Any transactions matching your selections will automatically be withdrawn from that Pot.

You can have both categories and merchants assigned to the same Pot. Merchants will also take

I have signed up and been granted access to the beta but I do not see the option in the expense pots to assign categories to spend from a pot. Is this feature still rolling out with the beta?

We did recently update some screen layouts since the beta was first announced, so things might have moved around a bit. We’re also working on some materials, such as blogs and help articles, around these changes to hopefully make things easier to find and understand with the new layout changes

Are you trying to set this up on a Pot in your expenses section or your savings section? You will only be set this up with Pots in your expenses section.

There isn’t currently a way to move Pots between the two sections (has been requested so on our to-do list), so you may need to create a new Pot under the expenses section.

Thanks for the reply I was able to figure it out. I expected it would be available on Pot creation but found after pot is created categories can be set from the manage tab. Having categories available at setup would be more intuitive in my opinion. Great to see this feature. Exactly what I was waiting for to go all in on Monzo as my primary bank.

Sorry to reactive a dormant thread, but did this feature ever get released in the UK? I’m having lots of trouble assigning categories to be paid from specific pots

Nope, not possible.

You’d need an Extra subscription, create a pot and attach a virtual card to it IE Groceries pot and just spend from there directly via digital wallet.

Ahh shame! Was the feature ever released out of beta in the US? It seems like such an obviously useful feature to have (right up there next to running totals )
