Haven’t used the card at point of sale yet, just online. However, have used it more than I have in the past to use the “pay in full on next payment date” option.

This confirms to me that having to select a plan every time I use the card is a pain.

I’ll keep testing the physical card and will be using it for Chip and PIN and contactless this weekend, and I’ll give feedback.

But in order to use this longer term as my “everyday” card I’d definitely want to be able to set a default of “pay in full” with the option to edit the plan, rather than having to go onto the app to select a plan every time.

I hope that once there is a default plan, there will also be a good way to select a different one in case you want to, e.g. I want to pay full on next payment date by default, but for some purchases I will want to pay them in 3 installments so that should be changeable.

Also, what would happen if my default was 12 months, but I wanted to set a purchase for full-next-payment-date or 3- month payment, would interest refrain from being charged for a day or so until I have a chance to change it?

You’re only ‘locked in’ to a plan when we take the first payment.

You can move between interest bearing and non interest bearing plans as much as you like before that first payment. So you always have at least 2 weeks to change your mind, maybe longer depending on when you make your purchase in relation to your payment date.

You can edit your plans after we take the first payment, but if you’ve picked 6 or 12 months you can’t move to interest free.

But you could reduce the interest you pay by paying off earlier/quicker?

Yep, exactly :+1:

I obviously missed that - thanks!

Used Chip and PIN for the first time today. Worked exactly as expected and got a comment on the card design.

That’s the next lot of massages paid for  and flexed to 1 April.

Edit: also worked with Chip and PIN tonight.

Can’t wait until Monzo allows us to set all purchases to default to a set instalment of X (E.g. 1 month)

So I’m flexing stuff and deferring to the next payment date (for most transactions) and the occasional one over 3 months (and, very occasionally over 6 or 12 months).

What I’ll need is a very easy to understand statement (which is going to be a challenge for Monzo) but also to be able to click in and see my upcoming payments at a glance. So while I can currently see the next payment on 1 March is going to be £66, what I’d like to also see is that 1 April is £451 (I think) and 1 May is £66.

You can do this!

If you tap into “Next Flex payment” you’ll see a list of forthcoming months and their payment amounts. It shows each transaction under every month so you might need to scroll a bit…

So you can. Thanks for that. So all I can say is a) thanks for pointing that out and b) if would be helpful if there was any indication on screen that this was possible! Three dots for example.

But - useful :+1:t2:

What I’d like is the upcoming payments on the screen and tap into them to see the breakdown of purchases and installments.

Does flex not give out the map in transactions?

I’d never checked but apparently not

Hopefully soon

Absolutely loved using me physical card. Now. The next step would be to get a higher credit limit and I can ditch my Barclaycard!
