Waiting to get my last international payment before I initiate the CASS. SOON
No.
As I’ve mentioned a few times in more detail, my finances are automated over 2 current accounts with standing orders moving money around at set times each month. So a 1st account for billing which pays a 2nd account (Monzo) my weekly spends. Monzo cannot offer the same features right to to merge my automated set-up. Until Monzo offer multiple accounts or bills and direct debits from pots I can’t.
I am using CASS to consolidate accounts right now.
Full Monzo since January and very happy.
I love not having charges for when a direct debit fails this only happens at the end of the month (once or twice a month) and I use to get charged £15 by my old bank per failed dd.
Now instead I am saving that £30 a month by putting it in a global equity fund ISA through the Moneybox API - which has already increased to be more than I invested.
BUT… really need a joint account option so having to keep my legacy joint bank account open
But don’t you feel that Monzo is really picking up pace. What major updates have we had from Starling this year? I had been with Starling for 4 months, but now coming over to Monzo, they just seem to be bringing new features much quicker. But I agree that’s starling 0.5% interest on money and goals are much better.
They both appear to speed up and slow down to us but they are like swans, even when things look quiet on the surface there is a lot of paddling going on below the surface
I’ve been full Monzo since I joined Monzo love it!
Switched everything manually but didn’t take too long!
Business accounts, SWIFT payments, SEPA/local partner payments…
I don’t think it’s fair to compare Monzo and Starling at this point. They have both highs and lows, where Monzo is high on releasing new features right now, Starling goes quiet, doesn’t really mean anything as Starling was releasing new features regularly while Monzo was a bit dull a few months back.
#FullMonzo here from today!
Hey aCCount,
Mortgage providers won’t focus on who you bank with. Their concern is affordability. If you can show you can save for the deposit, afford the monthly mortgage payments and have X amount of money left to live on each month then you’re fine. No provider places say NatWest ahead of Santander etc. It’s all about the money.
Hope this helps
I was about 90% Monzo due to two Direct Debits that I needed to phone somewhere to get switched over to Monzo.
Now with the Switch Service, I’m now hashtag FullMonzo.
Full Monzo since August 2017
Backup current account & savings don’t count
Monzo has been wonderful since PrePaid was available on Android in 2016
I’m sure with all the CA switch bonuses I’ll eventually move an account into Monzo to get rid of it
I’ve been #fullmonzo since November 2017 and haven’t had any issues at all. I’ve kept my Lloyds account purely for paying in cash (which I’ve not had the need to do, yet).
I’ve been #fullmonzo since my switch completed on Thursday. Switch was painless enough, except the switch didn’t complete until a day after it was meant to.
Everything is looking good so far
I have a legacy bank joint account with my wife as well which I’ll pay money into until Joint accounts are available on Monzo. Do hope they’ll do something about cash payments though.
I’m on my way to #FullMonzo! Up until recently (2 days ago!) I was working for a high street bank so had my salary going into an account there, then transferring bills money to another legacy account and spending money to Starling. Have had Monzo for a few months but haven’t really used it, however have just started a CASS switch from my bills account and have asked my new employer to pay my salary into Monzo.
Also switched on Summary in Monzo Labs which I am excited to try - hopefully will mean I’ll be able to easily do everything through Monzo
I currently have 3 current accounts, I need a few things to make monzo work as my only account:-
A direct debit pot (as in my bills will come straight out of that without me having to make transfers into the main account regularly - mixing it with disposable funds) so I can put the bill / rent money away from the disposable income.
Scheduled transfers into and out of pots, into for payday so that I can have the funds for bills go into that pot mentioned above. And out of as I actually have a daily budget and would like that transferred from a pot daily.
We won’t talk about the overdraft thing…
I’m not full Monzo either. The thing stopping me transferring my main account over is the lack of payee lists. I’ve got lots of saved payees that I transfer from my current accounts when I switch. If I moved to Monzo I’d lose them.
I’m still not sure why saved payees on Monzo is such a difficult thing to implement.
I became #FullMonzo earlier this month and just had my first salary payment and it is nice to wake up to that notification!
Although, I have really been using Monzo as my main account for a few months now while I manually moved my DDs over. Decided not to wait for CASS and actually tidy up all the links to my bank account and cancel subscriptions etc and I’m so glad I did, amazing how much you just ignore (well I did) going out!
Monzo has given me so much visibility of my money and I have started saving money for the first time in years so thank you Monzo.
Been using Monzo for a looong time now, but today is my first day #FullMonzo
