Have to wait for card to arrive before using account

I was informed that I could add my card to Apple Pay before it arrives so I can move money over and start setting everything up. But, the app is asking for my card number once it arrives.

I think you have to do it as part of the sign-up flow, not sure you can do it afterwards.

So I now need to wait 3-4 days before I can start using the account?

It’s been a long while since I’ve had the sign-up screens so I can’t remember what it shows, but if there’s no account/sort code and you didn’t choose ApplePay at the start, then I think you have to wait for the card.
