Giving the community more trust

This is great news. Congratulations @HoddzDJ, @alexs and @RichardR - all well deserved and no doubt you’ll do a great job.

It’s good to know what constitutes ‘Regular’ - whilst I read everyday, I don’t reply as much as I used to. I gained, then lost, then gained again the ‘Regular’ level of trust.

It’s been quite incredible to see how this community has grown. Having been part of it since November 2015, it’s changed massively, but still kept so unbelievably positive. Long may it continue.

Thanks Tom

The criteria for different ‘trust levels’ is described in the below post, this link should take you to the Regular’s criteria -

Hmmmm as for titles I prefer community reps.

Reps sounds like pushy salesmen

We could name them after TV characters…Alex is so fast so we could call him The Flash

Not a suggestion exactly but in sites I’ve worked on/with, people in these kinds of non-staff but heightened permission roles are often given the title of janitors, caretakers, clean-up team or other similar names.

Moderator implies that we’re here to run the discussion or implies the use of force with ban-hammers so I agree that it’s not a good term to use.

Just call them a Facilitator or a Community Leader

I like the idea of a facilitator. Impartial and just making sure things go smoothly. Same as in business.

What about “The :a: Team”?

Definitely my favourite.

Being out of the Monzo office they could be “The Away Team” (al la StarTrek)

Hey Everyone!

I thought I check in on this and see how you’re finding having “leaders” on the forum. Have they made the search for information a little easier? Have they helped with the clean up of the duplicate threads? What could we do better to help them? And what would you like to see more or less of from the leaders?

I think they doing a great job. The managed to keep the community tidy and clear. They also doing there best in avoiding duplicates

So far so good. Some parties have clearly taken affront but they’re in the minority.
I think you’ve got the right number for the traffic to the site. That’s without taking into account staff members.
It would be good to see more activity from Monzo staff though. Especially in following up queries.

I did notice for The Pledges & Investing that someone was banned suspended and their less wholesome posts obliterated. In such cases, I think the mod-mods should have writen a brief one-liner so we can see when higher action has been taken, remind about rules and then users can see that it’s not just the Leaders abusing powers cleaning up.

Other than that, I think they’re doing fine

For me the biggest plus is editing Titles to make threads easier to find and reflect the changing content on a longstanding thread.

The other big plus is the merging of Monzo In country posts where users keep starting new threads rather than search for the existing thread and adding their comments there

Title editing is a great addition, and @alexs does a great job of keeping on top of them. There are some great things planned for the Travel post which have been discussed, and I think @anon38211169 will be updating it :soon: to make it much easier to use :raised_hands:
