Me too, but I do still think there needs to be a choice for those who prefer cash.

yeah by all means no one should be forced to go cashless … i think its the way we will end up eventually for every one but through choice , it will mean a lot of change for cash only businesses as well i would imagine

There does but if I set up a business today why should I be forced to take cash if it’s not something within a tightly defined “social” purpose?

Heh, my 82-year-old mother is great with her iPhone. I was going to introduce her to Apple Pay but she beat me to it and had already set up her cards  She provides iPhone tech support to her friends, too!

I read in a Newspaper (remember those things) that a survey said over half of Britain’s didn’t have a savings account.

Genuinely stopped me, I wonder if this is because savings rates are so poor folks just keep it in their current account instead and therefore this is excluded?

No there’s a lot of people who simply can’t afford to save, every last penny goes into just trying to live.

Edit - There will be those about though who think what’s the point in saving I’ll just let it sit in my main account or just spend it all now

Oh I understand this will be a large part of it too for definite :disappointed:

I mean I just use my Apple Watch. It’s not fantastically different in usage and requires significantly less surgical procedures.

I used to surprise bus drivers by putting my Oyster card in my glove in winter and paying my fare by slapping the reader.

The Barclaycard/Barclays small (like SIM-sized) stick-on tabs that could be placed under the back of a watch or a phone - think Nokia rather than iPhone - from years ago did this. No need to insert anything inside your actual body to make payment. Fnarr

I don’t remember this phase of banking for some reason (and I should, I was definitely alive then!), was this some sort of option before Apple Pay existed?
