And you are perfectly entitled to your opinion, which is what it is, nothing more, nothing less. I’m sure you could find TSB customers who say the same, and they are also perfectly entitled to their opinions, and everyone else is also perfectly entitled to think they are living in a dream world. That’s all part of having opinions and being able to express them. What has made the world such a dangerous place over the last few years however is this insidious merging of opinions and facts.
There’s probably nothing stopping you voting for all 3, which I’m sure many people do. (Multiple votes I mean)
You seem to be taking this as something far more serious than it should be so I’m just going to step out and let you argue with someone who cares about it a little more than I do, although I’m not sure there is anyone else.
Best savings account ![]()
TSB won a mortgage provider award last year as well.
Just because “you never hear about TSB” doesn’t mean it’s not winning awards. That almost proves the point about targeted advertising.
You could. I had a TSB account for many years until November, with no issues. I’d recommend them to anyone who wants a no fuss bank account. Especially for passing in cash for free.
Most people don’t have a problem with their bank or think their bank is wonderful.
If it just does what you need it to do, does it make it better than others? Worse? The same?
If you don’t talk to customer service, don’t have a problem paying in anything, taking anything out, problems getting a replacement card, problems logging into online banking, problems with the branch or any other of the things it could be, you’ll think your bank is just fine.
Then one day, despite 20 years of service, Beatrice will be “rude” to you in the branch and you’ll never want to bank with them again.
In that case I recant my ‘living in a dream world’ comment as you seem to have your head on your shoulders right @Anarchist so I shall defer to your TSB knowledge
It’s possible that we are all living in a dream world. Sounds nice (depending on your dreams) ![]()
It’s all bullshit marketing (including the Oscars). None of these banks are our friends and none of them have our best interests in mind. They’re businesses there to make money.
That’s a matter of context. Just look at ALL the system failures RBS have had. Days, sometime weeks of downtime. I agree that TSB’s are probably the worst in recent memory but in context it depends on how it affects the customer.
Your issue is that you made a sweeping statement and it wasn’t factually correct. The correct answer is not to keep digging
Maybe not the banks themselves, but I am pretty sure that a lot of the staff give a damn about the job they are doing and providing something that we will all enjoy using (especially as a lot of, if not all of them, are Monzo users themselves).
Man this got crazy considering this little award has been done for at least the last 4 years with no big uproar. It’s a vote. Not a big issue
I’m sorry I didn’t realise the criteria would change to ‘awards you rate’.
Surely there’s an awards ceremony where awards are awarded awards, ‘the awards awards’ maybe, that we can consult to find out definitely which awards are the best awards on account of which awards have been awarded the most awards?
Ironic that TSB runs its own awards ceremony.
Hey all, I’m going to close this thread now
I think it’s run its course, and it’s there’s been a bit of unpleasant back-and-forth.
But you can still vote for us if you like
(I’ve also cleared up some of my earlier posts to make things a bit clearer. I didn’t do a great job of explaining things.)
