I was testing the new pre-approved transfer feature on my mums account as I don’t actually have another bank to test it myself. The new feature is now set up, and works really well when set up.
However it wasn’t without hassle, the request triggered anti-fraud processes with the other bank and we had to phone them otherwise it was going to lock the account. It sounds like this is because the request comes through as a payment for the monthly limit (default £5000), so it is a large amount that clearly triggers some security concerns with the bank. We were only trying to transfer £10 to test it.
Anyway, the feature does work well once set up, but I think it might be worth letting users know that this might potentially happen when they goto set it up. Don’t think there is much more else that monzo would be able to do on their end to help with this.
