Since the Octopus thread appears to have been vaporised by te exodus of children here is a new one for Energy Chat in general.
On an Octopus note I won 800 point on the spin just now
They even send an email to confirm it.

I only ever get 8pts
Another thread that us in NI will most likely sit out from, given our electricity suppliers are different to the ones in GB
I’ve been with SSE Airtricity for a while now. Can’t complain, nothing special.
I keep forgetting NI is different. What sort of Roxie per kWh are you paying?
2024 was your year!
33.06p per kWh
What sort of daily standing charge?
That is high by comparison to the cap rate in the uk.
Sure there is nothing stopping us from chipping in! We definitely miss out on the variable Octopus rates especially as I drive an EV which would benefit from it. Though I thought we did alright (if you shop around).
Currently with Click Energy, E7 - they’re pretty good for us (I track my monthly unit usage - day and night - like the spreadsheet nerd I am, and periodically check against the Consumer Council’s price tracker) and the only real competition for them with our rate of usage is that new crowd Share Energy.
Or rates are 30.179p during the day and 13.997p at night (including VAT). Standing charge is 9.873p per day. For us SSE work out £2.70 more expensive per month so £32.40 per year.
Early indications tomorrow might be really good on agile. Today is decent anyway.
While it’s pretty cheap from 23:30 onwards tonight, tomorrow between 9am and 4pm is insane. All negative values. Shower, oven, iron, EV all planned - fantastic!
I barely use anything tbf, tv, PlayStation, living room lamp.
Washing machine 2-3 times a week, air fryer near daily, don’t use the kettle much.
Otherwise I’ve no clue
Whatever happens after midnight for you seemingly causes the bulk.
Are you charging an EV overnight?
Yep, two that night actually. Even ignoring the EVs we average 12-15 kWh/day though. Of course that includes a WFH spouse and two kids…
Ah, children, no significance of a quid
But yeah I wfh and usually just have the radio on while working. Only recently started putting the heating on as I’ve been ill but that’s lapsed now (mostly).
All but the fridge remains off/standby. Single man problems
The cat doesn’t use anything so that’s a grace.
We’re currently similar - averaging 18kWh/day and that’s without charging one EV*, the hot tub** being switched off and with a TON of automation to keep costs down too.
*I only ever charge the car when Agile is less than 0p (free charging at work )
**The hot tub being on easily doubles the daily usage
Have you been away? Haha
