Do you have to notify work that your bank details or anybody else who pays into my account details have changed if you upgrade to a plus account from a basic account
Your card number will change, if you selected to have a new card, so if you have it saved as default anywhere you’ll need to change that, but that’s it.
Your account number remains the same.

Everything that you’ve mentioned will stay the same. You just get a new card with a new number, similar to if you had to renew or replace it 
Is there an option to keep your current card while upgrading? Not sure I can be bothered with the faff of having to update my card number in a load of places, but I do want to upgrade.
You can upgrade and keep your current card.
