✅ Debit card pot to pay from / spend from pots / pay from pot (Monzo Plus Virtual Card)

Yeah, it’s a bit sh1t that … I just wish monzo could match the nationwide flexplus offering especially with the mobile phone family cover and I’d be all in.

Not really as “sh1t” as giving every feature away free, and going bust in 18 months because Monzo isn’t making any money, though, is it?

Still surprises me people want everything for free. Just this week, someone was moaning that Monzo has the temerity to charge interest on some of its BNPL Plans!

Yeah, don’t get me wrong, it’s just a little bit sh1t, I’m happy it came to fruition it just a shame that I pay nationwide for all the features I need and the premium plan @ monzo just doesn’t match, I think monzo could hover up so many paying customers it it were able to match its product range.

The pay from pots is the main feature that I could really use (so much so this is actually my post) but I’m not sure I can justify the cost for such a trivial desire.

I am also an investor and it is therefore important to me that monzo don’t go bust, I only mention it’s a bit sh1t purely because it doesn’t fit my needs at a cost that works but I’m more than happy monzo can markets such features as it in my best interest.

Out of interest, would you just never pay, or would you consider if for a lower tier than the £5pcm?

Mmmm, not sure, I guess it would be nice if monzo done a pay what you think it’s worth promotion on individual features, I know lots of people take the pi55 on these types of promotion but also lots of people put alot of thought into what it’s worth and pay accordingly.

What I’m saying is I’m not sure what it’s worth.

I wish Asda did that. Here’s 10p now send me all the food

So it could be worth the price they’re charging now

I blame nationwide.

Just to say if you keep £2000 in your account (not 3rd party pots) you effectively get £1.69 of interest (capped at £2k) each month for the monthly. It’s a 1% rate for up to £2k on plus.
I know £2000 in saving can be a stretch for many though but I thought I would mention it.
I am plus myself over premium even though I would like premium the holiday insurance doesn’t cover asthma.
I do like using the trends feature with my linked accounts as well.
Just some food for thought.

My £2000 can work smarter is other places like plum and freetrade, but yeah there is an element of risk with them.

Is there anyone from the product team who can give info about this? Is it in the pipeline? If not just hire me I’ll take care of it.

Get your application in then! :stuck_out_tongue:

There are lots of engineer positions available or analytical roles where you can gather data to prove it would be worthwhile:

Good luck trying to show your income and outgoings when you apply for a mortgage etc.

It may be messy but it keeps DD transactions in one place - don’t break this Monzo.

It will still be on a statement.

But anyway, applying for a mortgage and showing that you get paid and then don’t spend anything would only be a good thing surely!

And also unrealistic!

It doesn’t make sense to have this behaviour for card payments but not for direct debits, and it is broken now IMO.

Plus as mentioned below for the purpose of financial health screening you won’t send screenshots but bank statements which have all the informations required.

It’s not broken. It’s actually better.

I have seen another bank do this. Where you can link your debit card to said pot instead of moving between pots or using virtual cards - this would be so much better for me!

Your opinion.
This is currently a mess, either card transactions should be shown in both accounts like direct debit,
Either direct debit should be shown in only one pot like card transactions.

Monzo, please fix the inconsistency here.
