I’ve switched every possible app and web-pages, like this forum, over to dark mode on my Android, Mac and Windows machines. It has made a [cough] noticeable difference to how I interact with the devices - especially later in the day. My eyes just prefer dark mode and that’s all there is to it
I’m running Monzo in forced dark-mode on android at the mo and while it isn’t perfect it is better than the retina-burning alternative.
It’s more of a visual thing rather than the added benefit of a little more battery power available.
Throwing my hat into the ring too. This thread has been open for a while now so I’m hoping that it’s something they’re gonna work on next (especially as it feels like it’s a relatively quick thing to work through)
I work for an app developer, and I’m sure the Monzo app is mostly written in the older languages, meaning it is probably an astronomical amount of effort to get the app working in dark mode. Every single page you’ve ever seen in the app needs to be touched and changed, it’s probably lower down the prioritisation than most things
I wasn’t clear, plus has been delayed but it sounds like it is ready to launch. So hopefully that means that most people who were working on plus can look at other things I.e. dark mode
Yeah - I keep toggling between light mode and dark mode. Dark mode (forced) is OK, but the light grey daily headers really spoil it, whereas light mode looks slick by comparison.
It needs to happen though. It’s the #1 request/vote at the mo, with 302 votes!
