My partner pointed out that my walking socks probably aren’t the best for my commute I.e. too thick!

Decathlon is my go-to for cheap cycling clothing. All their socks are pretty good IMO

I think the public bicycle hire scheme, otherwise known as Santander cycles is a good shout. Fit for purpose, as it is cheap to rent them out and no ownership responsibility. The only downfall is if you live in the suburbs, there aren’t any.

I do think the government attempting to promote cycling to work is a good thing but it’s very city orientated, or at least aimed at those who live where they work.

Before I started WFH my commute was a 40 min drive. That’d be a 2 hour cycle ride each way which is somewhat unreasonable I think :joy:

Aren’t we being a bit literal over a figure of speech here? In any case, you can sweat on an exercise bike, you can wipe the sweat off your face with your hand without thinking, and then your hand goes back on the handlebar. If you’ve got the Covid you could be picking up viral particles by wiping your face, and now you’ve transferred them to the handlebar. :man_shrugging:
