If I’m not wrong Revolut allow you to add a lil extra touch to their card, nothing fancy though.
Huh fair, Monzos great for other reasons tho so very much hoping they’ll do it
Standard cards cost Monzo £4+ for everything.
Welcome to England, where Daylight robbery is part of the constitution.
Knock yourself out and get something from here. Tonnes of designs or upload your own, all for a fraction of the cost it would be through any bank (including Barclays). https://cucucovers.com/
I imagine there are loads of similar websites. It wouldn’t surprise me if designs are on Amazon too.
agree on custom cards but will never agree Hot Coral is blegh
The actual Barclays cards look shite. The quality is terrible. I wouldn’t like Monzo to do fully–customisable because the Hot Coral is so iconic, but the Revolut adaptations are cute.
You realise you can just not get one rather than trying to control what other people do right?!
I 100% agree with you; it’s the same people who find fault in ideas and put others down all the time. Not all ideas work for everyone, but there’s no need for the same people in this forum to put other people down constantly; it’s like they think their opinion is superior to everyone else and because they don’t like an idea, then no one else should either, they seem to be on some kind of power trip trying to bully the little guy into their way of thinking, it’s rather sad, to be honest. And it is why I don’t tend to be on here much these days
Just because an idea doesn’t get many votes doesn’t make it a stupid or undesirable one. Remember, not every Monzo cardholder is a member of this forum or even knows it exists. The people trying to rip ideas apart don’t speak for them.
We should be here to support each other with ideas, if it’s a “bad idea” then suggest ways to improve it, not just rip someone apart for taking the time to put a suggestion out there. I really hope that people don’t stop giving ideas because of a few users with a superiority complex.
Thousands and thousands of people have used this forum and voted on ideas. 14 of those people thought this idea was good in the last 6 years.
Some things have hundreds of votes because they are popular and good ideas. This isn’t one of them.
Replacing the marketable stand-out cards for badly designed and expensive cards is a terrible idea. The fact you think everyone should praise every idea and never be critical is a very naive outlook on life.
Ok but you are not just critical, you claim it is objectively a terrible idea, which it clearly isn’t as lots of people have taken it up both in Barclays and Revolut.
There are many reasons why one might want a custom picture on something they use everyday, from a lost relative to a favourite memory. Bad idea for you, good idea for others.
It is a terrible idea. Just because someone else does it, doesn’t mean Monzo should. I get why people want it, but that’s not the same thing.
Revolut/Barclays don’t have the same brand recognition that Monzo do.
Whether we agree or not is all moot anyway. It isn’t going to happen.
In which case it’s not, objectively, a terrible idea.
For those who want it it’s a great idea.
For those who aren’t interested it’s an irrelevant idea.
It’s only those people for whom it’s a terrible idea that it’s a terrible idea.
The problem is that you are presenting your opinion as an objective truth - and it isn’t.
Both things can be true.
I must have had a rare card then because my personalised Barclay’s card was really good quality (at least to me).
I’m going to go against the grain here folks; I like personalised cards and wouldn’t be mad if Monzo did them.
I don’t think they will but I like them.
I’ll be gone by the end of the day, I’m sorry.
The comment that Barclays doesn’t have the same brand recognition as Monzo
And enough people going around starting up digital banks (once thought of as a “terrible idea“) to prove it wrong.
For the avoidance of doubt I’m only trying (probably badly) to make the point that I think that stating as an objective fact that offering an alternative card design is a “terrible idea”, when it’s just an opinion, is unhelpful because it puts people’s backs up and polarises and (perhaps more pertinently) personalises the discussion.
And I’ve probably still expressed that badly, sorry.
This is all too common on here, and it’s the same people every time, just because someone doesn’t like an idea doesn’t make it a terrible one for everyone.
People saying ideas are terrible is incredibly rare.
Nobody has ever said it to the ideas you’ve posted, which I presumed they had as that was why you keep saying it.
It might happen a bit more than you think (I know that they probably aren’t all you btw).
