I’m waiting for someone to point out that’s what the staff are called, so I’ll beat them too it. ![]()
The joke being it’s Wednesday? ![]()
What everyone said above. Plus, this community has had just under 4000 active users in the last 30 days. Even if 4000 people did what you suggest it adds up to nothing - less than a quarter of a million if everyone took it for a year. How much difference do you think that is going to make to a company which loses over £9 million a month (on average)?
Your post has to be in jest surely?
I’ve been full Monzo for a couple of years now. The app experience far exceeds anything I’ve had with any other bank.
I read the recent news about Monzo’s finances and the potential for our bank to cease being a going concern.
It’s probably still early days, and hopefully that doesn’t happen, but with the introduction of a paid option, there’s something we can all do to help ensure continuity.
It’s only 6 quid a month, it’s a cup or two of coffee every month. I’m signed up, and I hope you do too. Yes, it sounds like they could do a lot more to sort out their lending game. If and when they do, maybe then you could kill your sub. Until then why not show some support for something which gives us value every day?
Tom stop making Monzo forum accounts please.
There is nothing in Plus which is of value to me. I’m pretty much full Monzo including joint and business account (which I pay for) but Monzo aren’t a charity and I won’t and shouldn’t pay for something which is of no value to me to “support” them. This was argued extensively in another thread recently.
I have Plus already but…

£5
This has been covered widely elsewhere. It’s not early days for Monzo to cease being a going concern. By all means buy Plus, but don’t do it to save Monzo ![]()
I understand your sentiment but paid accounts don’t offer value to everyone. Monzo aren’t a charity and it doesn’t matter whether the plus fee is only £5 or not.
Monzo need to have a business model that drives revenue and profits and they need to make their products attractive to customer’s needs. If they can’t then they will fail but it isn’t up to customer’s to drive that revenue. It is for Monzo to drive through innovation and attractive products.
I suppose any bank, company are having problems at this time. No one is immune! I’ve been full Monzo for a few years, and it suits me fine. I don’t listen to rumors, reviews, surveys or protests🤨. I don’t get guilt Tripped into something either.
Monzo is a going concern.
They have £175 million in capital, more than enough to make the same loses next year. They are also possibly going to raise £40 million more soon and looking to cut costs.
I pay for Plus, and I am an investor, but I will only pay for Plus if it is worth it. Monzo is a business, not a charity.
Let’s not treat Monzo like a charity.
I’d like to see Monzo succeed (and at least one reason should be fairly obvious), but they have to be able to do so properly. The community, even en masse, is unlikely to tilt the needle. And why should we have to, anyway?
If they can make the right product for the right people (and if news articles can avoid scaremongering), they’ll do right without any customers needing to take special measures to ‘help’.
I hope Monzo is success they’re fantastic. If it came to it where they did another crowd fund I’ll support it as I wouldn’t want them to go

Not this shit again
If you need to prop up a business… it’s not a very good business.
That’s a bit heavy on the spin but it’s not wrong.
I only use companies that are not profitable. It means somebody else’s money is subsidising my awesome experiences at below cost to myself.
I am out, as soon as Monzo starts generating profits.
Deja vu didn’t I see one of these posts just last week 🤦
