Connected credit card transactions not coming through (Barclaycard)

No such luck for me:

Try lodging a formal complaint. I went down the route of asking for a refund because it is a paid service and they are not providing this service through something seemingly entirely within their control.

I know it’s probably a best-effort service if one were to dig into their T&Cs, but still.

Can I assume that this is still not working for anyone else?

I had hoped this would have been quite a quick fix….!

Still not working.

I can confirm it’s still not working for me (both Barclaycard and HSBC credit cards).

The cards show, but their balance is not reflecting the actual current balance (Barclaycard) and the list of transactions is missing anything from the last couple of months (Barclaycard and HSBC).

Refreshing, removing and reconnecting, don’t fix it.

Interestingly, as of a few minutes ago, the App is saying it has problems with Barclaycard specifically. However, given my HSBC account is not working, it does look a little more widespread than just Barclaycard

Can we remove the solution tag? It’s pretty misleading given that, well, the issue hasn’t been solved.

@_lewis should be able to do that. This has most definitely not been solved yet, and to my knowledge Monzo is the only open banking app with this problem.

I’m having same issue. Can’t get transactions to refresh on either barclaycard or through barclays app. Now barclaycard is showing as having connection issues on connected apps so can’t even try to reconnect. Incredibly frustrating, also making me consider stopping my premium.

Still not working for me either. Their chat keeps trying to auto close each day, to which I keep informing that the issue is not resolved. So far a refusal to refund this month’s Extra fees per other people. I do all my spending on Barclaycard and Amex so it’s the sole purpose of Extra for me to track all in one place. They said I could only cancel Extra, but then I would lose all my setup and also I’d lose the ability to see whether it’s working or not to see whether to sign back up. Thanks very much to the person who confirmed compensation, as this sets a precedent :right_facing_fist:

Update: as suggested by @Peter_G, I asked for a refund of my monthly fee, and I’ve been given Ā£30 as a goodwill payment.

I’d rather they fixed my M&S credit card transactions feed, but it’s better than a poke in the eye with sharp stick etc etc.

Hey everyone :waving_hand: Happy New Year  Sorry for the delay in replying.

Unfortunately, we’re still trying to get through to the right teams at Barclays.

For a bit more context on the issue: previously, each transaction included a booking date with a timestamp (for example, 2025-12-02T20:41:14Z). Barclays have now removed the time component, so transactions are coming through as 2025-12-02T00:00:00Z.

We use the full booking date and time as part of the logic to generate a unique transaction ID. Without a unique transaction ID, our connected accounts system isn’t able to function correctly, which is why transactions aren’t appearing in the app.

This likely isn’t affecting other providers because they don’t store and reconcile transaction data between fetches — they simply display whatever data the bank returns.

I hope that helps provide some context on what’s going on. We’re actively working to resolve this and will continue to keep this thread updated as we make progress.

Thanks for proving the technical insight!

It’s frustrating but reassuring to hear you’re trying to address the root cause.

For my curiosity though: Is there also any reason why account balances are also not refreshing? (not just the transactions themselves)

Thanks

My Barclaycard balance is refreshing correctly and promptly. It’s only the transactions that don’t appear for me.

Is your issue on Barclaycard or a Barclays current account?

My Barclaycard connection failed completely and I can’t reconnect it.

Customer service has been very very poor.

You can connect it via the Barclays option, it should refresh the balance even if transactions aren’t currently updating.

Thanks @_lewis for the update. Are you able to address why some commenters here have received refunds/courtesy payments to offset the Max fee whilst others (myself included) have been refused?

My Barclays curent account is completely unaffected - balance and transactions are up to date.

But for Barclaycard - both the transactions and the balance are frozen in time (their own app shows everything correctly, but it’s annoying as I like to see everything from the Monzo home screen).

Barclaycard option has been disabled, I assume deliberately whilst they try to resolve the matter with Barclays. I am sure that Monzo are doing their best, and Barclay are the ones dragging their feet on this matter.

Same issue, so tried reconnecting Barclaycard again, attempting to do so, Barclaycard is greyed out on the list of banks when attempting to connect accompanied by ā€˜Connection Issues. Try again later’ message. Fun Fun Fun!

I was able to get a Ā£6 good will refund for this issue after asking. I have now cancelled my monzo extra and moved to ā€˜Snoop’ to do all my budgeting and spend analysis across Barclaycard Amex and monzo. I can highly recommend, more analysis features than monzo (e.g. lets you put all transactions from a merchant into a new custom category, rather than changing each individual transaction).
