Mine has updated but it’s the wrong design. My physical card has a red strip. I’ll take this over the ugly green it was before though
Yep, possibly my least favourite credit card design ever. The new one is such a huge improvement.
The physical card was even worse. Super glossy and silver embossed numbers
Wonder if mine is correct now? I’ve also got the low interest RBS Credit Card but based on below it should have the yellow lines.
Yellow: RBS Credit Card
Red: RBS Rewards Credit Card
Purple: RBS Payment & Balance Transfer Credit Card
My card in Apple Pay shows the incorrect card.
Does anyone have my type of card either RBS or NatWest with the yellow lines.
My missus’ Santander card recently updated itself to the newer design that just says ‘Debit’ instead of Santander. She was holding off doing it as she liked the first Debit Mastercard design when it was still portrait with the squares that said ‘Santander’ on it
The yellow is a bit garish to be honest, I wouldn’t complain
I’ve got the physical Ulster yellow line card, but in Apple Pay it’s purple lines.
Well on my Apple Watch it’s purple, I’ve not re-added it to my phone, so that still shows the old design. I was interested to see if the phone might update automatically but it didn’t.
Actually updating the version on my Apple Watch did update my iPhone wallet AND transaction history remained on the phone. So if you use your phone more, re-add it to your Apple Watch and keep the history on the phone. And if you mainly use your watch, re-add it to your phone. Small work around if you have an Apple Watch.
It’s the same for NatWest. Physical card has yellow lines, but Apple Pay is identical to yours with a NatWest logo instead of RBS.
I’m deducting points for the few different designs not lining up.
That’s a great tip thanks for sharing
Very disappointed they didn’t make the lines the right colour…
I agree, the sheds were the superior (vanilla) RBS design; but the credit cards were vile before this recent update, particularly the reward green one (background on this picture).
Has always been a very underrated product tho, IMHO. Flat 1% cashback at supermarkets, no fee if you have a matching Reward Current Account. It’s the one I always recommend when people ask me which card to use for rewards when they only want one.
Really ? I thought you hated glossy/shiney cards?
Why can no bank get their cards lined up?
Monzo logos misaligned across the cards
Same with Starling cards
And now NatWest
It was shiny as hell and looked scratched to death immediately out the envelope. Horrible
It’s not only HSBC UK that is reviewing their cards lately. Bye bye to the lion design for HSBC US Premier credit card, now the same design as the UK. Also gone from free to $95 fee.
I hope that’s for new customers only because I also have that card and use it heavily.
Edit: It seems the annual fee is also applicable to existing customers. They’ll be assessing everyone in December 2024 for eligibility for the fee-waiver (HSBC Private only) and then charging the fee. A bit disappointing as it’s my primary card. I’ll probably still pay it but I have to admit it doesn’t provide much benefit to me other than supporting me internationally and entirely fee-free. Notice apparently going out in Sept 24 for all existing cardholders. Fairly good service from HSBC webchat. Not used to that from other banks who typically have no idea.
I wonder if it’ll ever be possible to have a colour coating on the chip that allows it to function and blend into the background.
Hope that doesn’t apply for the UK over time.
