Collected thoughts on card design (Part 1)

I have the Platinum charge card (metal/plastic hybrid) and my companion credit card was recently replaced with this design. I actually think it’s probably the nicer of the two.

Rather like this one that came with my car:

Hello, made an account just to be here lol.
Pretend there is a monzo card here (in the post currently). Also, the skewing is due to me doing an odd crop. Trying to get saving account cards and monzo card.

P.S. Can you instantly cancel monzo plus or would you have to wait the 3 months to cancel? I really want the blue card but also don’t want to pay £15 for it. Also, same question for revolut premium.
Also, with HSBC HK, they don’t mention needing a reason?

The lloyds card doesn’t know if it wants to be portrait or landscape

Personally, I find the wise card a bit boring but it is very clean.
Chase is great though I do kindof wish the mastercard logo was on the front as the silver logo is nice.

My favourites I think are: Zing (the holotext and visa infinite look nice), Monzo Plus Blue (looks really nice irl and thus i want), HSBC HK (Though I am not sure I will ever be able to get it) and Mettle (the red core looks really nice)

Tempted to get a MagSafe wallet from Spigen. I’m not sure if I want to order a new Club Lloyds card that’s vertical, but more importantly, not embossed…

I personally like the new shiny flat vertical lloyds cards verses the old ones.

Might be worth a replace.

I screwed up. I didn’t know Monzo was going to roll out new monthly subs. I should have upgraded to plus while I still could :frowning:
I guess no blue card for me…

Nothing really special, but a new one for my wallet and USD spending. Waiting for it to arrive, curious if the core will be blue or not.

I like this a lot! And, yes, the material behind the centurion’s head is translucent.

(I went for it because, now my spending is mainly on Chase for the 1%, I wasn’t spending the min £3k/year to get the cashback on Amex Platinum.)

So much nicer than Nectar :unamused:

It is really nice, it’s one of the best glow-ups from old to new design I can think of.

It’s the free Rewards card with Membership Points: American Express - The American Express® Rewards Credit Card | American Express UK

1 point per £1, and they can be redeemed to gift cards at the same 0.5% rate as the cashback card gives you, but there’s no minimum annual spend requirement and they rollover indefinitely.

Hey, just to note, I contacted RBS regarding savings account atm cards and they have replied that they no longer offer cards for savings accounts.

Santander also told me no when I asked for a card for my savings account.

I think RBS haven’t offered them for some time, but it does seem as if Santander may have withdrawn them very recently - certainly I couldn’t find any account that still offers them.

I’ve never had an AmEx, don’t need one, certainly won’t spend enough on it for the points to be worth anything, not a card collector, but I think I’m going to get one of those blue ones!

If anyone else is tempted…

I think that’s just for the Cashback card, which is the silver version of the blue card posted above.

Here it is! I will say, I think it looks better in Apple Pay and the Monzo app than it does in real life. The back is regular hot coral and it’s really jarring.
