Collected thoughts on card design (Part 1)

I also bank in Panama, and while it has positives and negatives, recently started appreciating banking there. Some interesting card designs too. I should probably give a go at getting some of the nicer designs over there. My debit card from Banco General is probably the favourite I have (but there’s nicer ones available in other banks). Simple but elegant.

Yes they’ve sent me a Visa card on my 2nd RBS account, however it expires in 02/26.

I reported my NatWest debit Mastercard as lost yesterday. I’ve just had a notification that my new card has been generated and it’s another Mastercard, so it must just be the luck of the draw in what you are issued as a replacement card.

British Airways Prepaid Mastercard Closing 22nd Apr 2024. No indication of any new products after. Can use the card until 21st Apr, and then any funds remaining can be requested back after 22nd.

The dedicated ‘Science Card’ thread is locked, so excuse me for asking this here please.

Did anyone sign up to the WaitList?

If so, have you had any further communication from them, other than the initial confirmation of receipt of application.?

TIA

@ndrw

Thankyou. I was just checking in case any communications might have been flagged as Spam and automatically deleted. I guess it’s telling that there have been no updates.

The website is still referencing an Autumn (presumably 2023) launch, so there’s been no update to that either.

I just wonder now if this will actually materialise.

You can definitely tell the NW Visa card is made from 100% recycled plastic, it’s actually pretty flimsy.

I like the look of the Monzo Business debit card. Do they give you a different card if you have their fee paying business account? Too bad I don’t have a business!

They used to but I think it’s a single design now.

I’d love the same one as business for personal accounts. Just feels like it’s a bit more grown up, and ageing, just like me :frowning:

Yeah every old boring person likes blue.

They sent a couple of emails last November with the subject lines:

  • The final countdown has begun!
  • Do figs offer a cure for cervical cancer?

Still seem quite active on Twitter/X though and their website seems to suggest that they may now be issuing cards…

Thankyou. I don’t have a Twiiter/X account, so may be missing out there.

The website is attractive and I find it easy to navigate - would just like a little more detail about timescales.

Don’t think it has been brought up before, but the Child & Co. card shows with the right design on the PayPal wallet:

Over in Curve, they seem to only have one card design for a RBS Mastercard:

Do they still check the addmycard email address?

They’ve not checked it it a year or more as I’ve put several in over that time.

Ooohhhhh.

Very nice looking card :star_struck:

Do you have to actually have a business or can we say we are a sole trader and not have any checks done with HMRC to look into taxes etc haha

And you wanted fewer accounts, so opening more fraudulently probably isn’t the best idea “haha”

You can easily set up a fully legal and registered limited company with an active status on Companies House in a few minutes

Been there, done that (not just for a bank account and card though)
