they doing the same function as more accessible with lion design in other country as well…
Which will be less accessible than these UK ones. The “Everyday Global / Debit” text isn’t the best on that background. The ones the UK have are as simple as possible which helps accessibility a lot.
That’s Australia
sorry AUS, you’re right
So many cards! I think there are very few that I actually dislike. I’d definitely like the Bank of Scotland ones more if their logo wasn’t in the middle of the photos, and I definitely think the new Curve cards are a downgrade. The worst that I can see at the moment is the Natwest Mastercard Debit. Both the pattern and the colours used are not good.
Just opened a Nationwide Instant Saver in order to get the cash card (which has to be done in branch). Received the old purple design, so either they haven’t updated the cash card to the new scheme or they’re using up old stock first.
Do you have a link to the old form?
There’s a lot of really attractive cards in my collection, sometimes I wonder if I should switch my daily spending over to a different account just so I get to carry around a nicer card with me (Child & Co being the main candidate…)
Out of my whole collection I’d have to say my 10 least favourite are (in no particular order):
- Suits me
- Aqua credit
- Revolut
- Triodos
- FairFX
- Pockit
- Wirex
- Plum
- Counting up
- NatWest debit
I’ve opened an additional RBS account today they better send me a Visa debit card
Let us know as I also want one
Yup! It’s just so bland and not particularly entertaining - though I think the chip being on the wrong side of the card is probably more damnning than the graphic design. I actually quite like the black Revolut business card, it’s slick and clean, not to mention has the chip on the correct side of the card
It’s upside down for me which frustrates the heck out of me
Is there a country that has a standard for the cards that way around, or is it just to be different?
I don’t think I’d ever seen one that way until revolut.
I guess more a creature of typical standard we are accustomed to, or forced upon
Honestly I sometimes forget cards have a magnetic stripe. I can safely say that in all my years of having cards, I have not once used the mag stripe
It’s also not upside down if you use a vertical wallet, like a phone case. It means the chip goes in first, and when you pull out the card, you’re holding the correct end of the card to tap or insert. (And the magstrip is also oriented correctly on the reverse of the card, at the bottom, as has been pointed out.)
Hopefully it’ll be soon and not like NatWest, where they haven’t updated the Credit Card design yet still on Apple Wallet
