Collected thoughts on card design (Part 1)

HSBC Premier for income, DDs and spending (although most of that’s done on a credit card).

I don’t need to separate DDs from spending when there’s HSBC’s Balance after Bills tool. It’s similar to Monzo’s ‘left to spend’ but you can edit the amounts of your DDs and SOs.

(Also got Monzo, Starling, Child & Co. branded RBS and Chase.)

To both answer the question and remain on thread HSBC.

I have both the Premier cards but not the Global Money card. I’m tempted by the GM card but I don’t really have a use for it. Not that that has stopped me before

The only reason I have it is for the twice a year I go abroad or so. Plus the card is nice.

My Drummonds card arrived. I’m not a fan of the gloss look, still much prefer Child & Co. but will have fun flashing the status symbol up in Scotland on my trip next week

I like the picture :+1: you’ll have to let us know what the debit cards like when it arrives.

Well I did for a while but since HSBC is now my main bank it made sense to have their card.

Just curious, you’re paid weekly, but do you ‘pay yourself’ on 15th to have a monthly budget as such? If so, I’m paid weekly but some months, try a monthly budget too.

Yeah, thats essentially what it is. My employer wouldn’t accept my request to get paid monthly so that I could have a budget. I’ve been “Paid Monthly” for a few months now and its honestly so much easier, I feel as if my money can go further now.

I find budgeting monthly easier for bills, just put in a pot and forget about it. Takes bit of getting used to for spending money but, used to spending money only having to last to next Friday.

I fully understand you there, I put £50 a month into a bills pot every month now with linked virtual card. Before I was spending all of my pay each week… which for me I earn between 100-200 a week. I remember earning £400 or so one week and spending it all before the next friday which sparked the “Monthly Pay” idea.

Anyone any idea on the process of ulster bank applications? Done my application yesterday but heard nothing back.

You’ll get asked for ID and to sign a document after a day or two.

Never heard of that process before🤯 usually get told yes or no at end of application, Im in Scotland so unsure if ill get accepted or not.

My sincere apologies for asking a question!

Don’t worry about it. Someone might move it to the NatWest thread.

Would be nice to have this design for the Chase Debit card instead of having the name on the front
