Not a terrible looking card for a basic. (It’s basic because I already hold a FlexPlus apparently - which I closed in Dec and CBA to call to resolve).

FlexBasic is the only current account design I don’t have, I got all the other 3 regular adult accounts.

If that’s for the cash back I’d be surprised if the basic account was valid for it.

They do. But at least back when my former colleague had a basic account they weren’t considered an “adult account”.
I mean great if the basic can, but basic accounts usually aren’t valid for so much basic stuff. Some don’t get contactless. HSBC even don’t allow most regular savings accounts for them.

I wanted FlexDirect for the interest but it said this was all I can have and I just went with it and I’ll upgrade in time when I can call them.
I can get the cashback for this, it’s not as basic as other bank accounts used to be with other banks. Just no credit to be applied IE overdraft.
It’s also one of the only banks that allowed Apple/Google pay for a basic account, many of the others did not.
Lloyds used to pin their basic accounts to cash at their own machines online.
Barclays would restrict Apple Pay and not let you take out any Tech extras etc.
Virgin Money had a pre paid debit card as a basic addition, instead of a proper current account.
Not too familiar with other basic accounts, never had to deal with them.

The only thing I take issue with is it being so bold and blatantly a basic account. It might be something socially awkward or not wanting to advertise. I’m sure other banks have a regular card design.
Of course that’s a personal preference; I’m sure many wouldn’t care at all.

I was going to say the bright red is maybe a bit bold. But saying that probably only us lot on here would know anyway.

Agreed on the FlexBasic thing but they all have it on I think IE FlexPlus, FlexDirect or whatever they are. I’ll only use it for the £10 free each month. Not a bad incentive.

Surprised at this. Didn’t think there was a limit to FlexX accounts, if you’re eligible. I’ve held FlexAccount, Direct and Plus simultaneously in the past.
