I only knew about this through Monzo’s competitor Starling Bank. I am looking forward to sending my cheques to you now as my Dad gives me cheques sometimes for Christmas and my Birthdays over the years.

For all the discussion of Monzo and cheques, I did use cheque imaging last week and it worked. Unlike on my other traditional bank accounts. So good work

It’s worked when I’ve used it. The First Direct offering is very hit and miss, working sporadically.

I’m just here to say thank you for implementing this feature. Works like a dream.

I recently had to close an account down due to theft. I couldn’t receive refunds into the account, so some companies insisted on sending me a cheque :frowning:

No worries though, this feature had me covered. Very impressed.

Anyone else experienced delays in cheque processing between Christmas and New Year? Should have had 3 cheques clear yesterday, haven’t cleared today either, all of them just say “Sorry, there was a delay”.

Edit: Now all three have disappeared from my feed completely.

Cheque imaging above £500.

I got a cheque from the DVLA a few days ago and was looking forward to using this feature, but I ended up having to use HSBC in the end since Monzo’s limit is much lower for some reason?

Deposited late night on the 30th and money available early in the day on the 31st. Given the delays posted above, seems like HSBC was all-round the better option.

All credited just before midnight on 31 December. Really good support response (one I managed to locate Chat) including messaging me just after midnight when they credited the account. But still not sure why they disappeared from the feed completely for several hours.

Agree. Monzo definitely behind the curve here but we still have another account with a higher limit and a local branch. Shouldn’t need that though.

Sounds like they re-presented the cheque after a processing error of some sort (which would also account for the initial delay). Good that it was sorted relatively quickly without the hassle of you needing to get a replacement cheque, anyway!

Just ran into this issue of Monzo’s cheque deposit limit (£500) being too low. Hope they address this soon. I think TSB might be the only other bank with a limit below £1,000, and there are a now several banks with limits of £5,000 to £10,000 (e.g. Barclays, Lloyds, Santander).
