I’ve still got my old style pink driving licence which is valid until age 70 when it will then need to be renewed for a modern DL.
Chase have also now removed the chat button in the app

Chase can be really picky about using the same ID document that you used to sign up, especially if one has a middle name and another doesn’t.
I used my passport to apply and their system wouldn’t accept my licence to log back in. It went off for manual review, then I got a text asking to call. The person I spoke to said because my passport has a middle name that’s not on my licence, they couldn’t accept it, and that I’d have to start the login again using my passport.
Yikes. That’s pretty petty 
Suppose they do need to make money, and reducing methods to contact a human is the easiest way.
If you head to a support option, does it then give you the option at the bottom?
No, just gives the phone number. I tried searching for contact support a la Monzo but no results.
Could possibly serve more customers by phone in one hit.

They did the same to my wife, issue was different address on license from the one she signed up with.
She moved in circles until she gave up on them.
Yeah I knew the feeling, they first just sent me messages that there was an error and please try again, so without further detail I tried my licence another 2 or 3 times under better lighting etc, assuming it was just a bad quality photo. It went to manual review each time and I had to wait a few hours for the rejection message. I eventually called and was told that my licence would never be accepted and to use my passport instead.
I would have given up too if I didn’t have any money in there!
she has £15 in there and cannot even switch it out as she has no card number, but they managed to send her a replacement automatically few weeks back
You don’t need a card number to do a switch. Just say you don’t have a card when it asks.
Some switches will reject.

Why don’t you just change the name on the driving licence? I had to do that a few years back as they’d my names in the wrong order and it was starting to cause complications.
Must have seen a lot of money move out following the reduction of cashback and 3% savings rate.
