Chase UK Chat (Part 2)

Does anyone else’s iPhone get hot whenever the Chase app is open?

It resolves if I open a different app and then started again when I open chase. Have 14pro.

Not mine. What iOS version and Chase app versions are you running?

All latest

Credit card payments now possible from other banks:

Direct debits still seem to be Chase only:

Just a reminder that if you want to make a regular repayment, your other bank needs to offer this function and the repayment can only be for a fixed amount.

@AlanDoe The forum is unusable like this.

That is obviously why it would not allow me to edit the auto-correct word in my post.

Obv, the word should have been “locking” !! :man_shrugging:

Strangely, got this automated message:

Was looking at the Chase UK website (currently on travels in Europe) and the site had a banner at the top asking me if I wanted to visit the local Chase DE website (https://www.chase.de). Was a bit surprised…

Reading through FT this morning and seems JP Morgan announced this yesterday, starting with savings accounts. Bit of a slim offering without a current account for a market launch and a difficult country to target, due to the strong public banking sector with the hundreds of municipal savings banks and over 700 co-operatives operating, along with Deutsche Bank and Commerzbank. Not forgetting the major online-only direct banks by big players such as ING, BNP Paribas and recently BBVA. And lets not forget neobanks like N26, Revolut, bunq or Trade Republic. But they probably know what they are up to

Wow 4.75% in EUR (assumed Instant Access ?) means a huge boost (2.75% above EUR discount rate)

EU banks have always had much lower interest rates for savings accounts compared to banks in other comparable markets like the UK, US, Canada, Australia, etc… so hopefully Chase will go in and shake up the EU savings market!

A 2.75% markup vs base rate is simply huge. In the UK it would have been equivalent to Instant Access Savings rate of 6.75%! With this kind of loss leader I bet Chase is gonna attract lots of interests (literally).

The 4.75% screenshot is from the UK website, not from the German website, which is pretty barebones at present and doesn’t seem to make any mentions to savings accounts rates.

Ah yes you’re right, I suppose the giveaway should have been that it was all in English and not German.

Chase are trying to tempt me back to them with a £100 amazon gift card if I pay in £1500 of income for a few months.

I’d happily return (for free) but unable to. They should really sort that out, reckon quite a few people would give them another try

It’s only been two months of paying my salary into Lloyds, so surprised they’ve missed me that much to want my money back so soon.

Yeah - just got that email as well. Looks like you can’t just transfer £1500 manually each month - you need to specifically arrange for your salary to be paid in there directly either via CASS or getting your employee to pay it in.

As it’s really too late this month to get that setup by the end/start of the month (which I suspect is most people’s payday) and it needs 2 payments made by 31st Dec, if your payday is the 1st of the month, it means you’ve got to make sure 1st Nov and 1st Dec is paid in to qualify.

I’d happily do so but doesn’t look available to me.

Does anyone know if Chase shows upcoming direct debits similar to how HSBC or Monzo show them in the transaction list?

Yes, it lists upcoming payments going out the next day.
