At the moment the bills pit only shows you bills between the 1st of the month and the end of the month. It would be amazing if you could either change it so it tells you what bills are due out between specific dates and for it to be 4 weekly. I get paid every 4 weeks and I have to work out what bills are coming out before I get paid again.
This has been asked so many times.
The way around this is to budget month to month and keep the money aside until 1st of the month every month to budget effectively.
This does involve you leaving your salary until the 1st comes round but I understand this may not be practical for some, but it is the most appropriate way around it.
At least once a year you’ll have a full 4 weeks pay to yourself as you’re paid twice within 1 month period being paid 13x a year.
If it’s asked for a lot then it’s clearly a feature that people would want.
it’s a minority, and a lot of work involved.
Monzo would have done it if it’s a simple implementation but I imagine it takes a lot of adjustments to many aspects of the app, not just a date selection tool.
The answer to your query is to adjust your budgeting style unfortunately.
Unsure of other banks that offer a 4 weekly cycle.
You’re not wrong but Monzo doesn’t always do what people want, there are a lot of highly upvoted ideas that have not yet been implemented e.g. Summary period from last < weekday > of month (eg: last Friday of the month)
If you change your pay day will it show you anything due between those dates? For example I get paid on the 28th and it only shows me what’s coming out up till the 27th?
That’s probably working as it should. My payday is set for the 1st day of the month and if I tap on the Bills pot, the ‘Scheduled payments’ section shows a ‘Left to pay’ of £xxx.xx ‘Until 30-November’ and also an ‘Upcoming’ section with the number of Scheduled payments from the pot in the next rolling 30/31 days.
The confusion is when you tap on them - ‘Upcoming’ is correct as it shows you all of the payments due in the rolling current/next cycle, but ‘Left to pay’ also mysteriously shows the same list. This should, by definition, show only transactions which are to be paid by the ‘Left to pay’ date and nothing beyond that date - until the next cycle starts.
