I’ve had my card declined at the ATM. It’s when the ATM seems to only be connected to the Link network and not to Visa/Mastercard. The ATM outside the Co-op bank is one of those, and also the small ATM in the local cornershop (which is free to use) is also ‘Link only’. Just get a ‘card not recognise’ error.

If your using paypoint day your “topping up” your card , they get confused if you talk about making a deposit etc it’s same as topping up your gas

All that have to do is swipe it and follow the prompts

I had both my physical Monzo and Starling cards on me the other day and paid in £50 cash at the postie. I chose Starling and instant £50 in my account in seconds.

Is there still a £1 fee with Monzo?

Answered my own q  well I’ll continue to use Starling to pay in it seems.

Any update on this? Would be good to be able to deposit more cash even if I need to pay a small fee over £1000 @Rupert_W

Delighted to see that the deposit limits have been changed to £750 per month. This is much more reasonable than before.

Good spot @Heckie!

We’ve removed the £1000, 180 day limit for all UK Personal Customers. This has been replaced by a calendar monthly limit of £750. As before, this limit is shared between deposits made at PayPoint and at Post Office. This increase means users can deposit £9000 over the course of the year, up from ~£2000.

Additionally, we’ve also increased the amount you can deposit in one go at the Post Office - this is now £750, up from £300. The single deposit limit at PayPoint stays at £300. Fees are still £1 unless you have Perks and or Max in which case you get 3 fee-free deposits per month.

This should make a big improvement for customers who need to deposit cash. Sorry it’s taken a little longer than expected to roll this out.

With monzo in profit and I can’t imagine there are millions of cash deposits, why does the customer have to pay the fee?

With Tesco in profit, why does the customer have to pay for their shopping?

People don’t get free shopping, most banks offer free cash deposits.

Your argument is moot.

Thanks - this is great and means I can now, finally, go full monzo!

If I had to pay in cash at the Post Office, I’d pay it into one of my legacy bank accounts free - where it is cleared funds - and transfer it to Monzo as required.

It says £750pm as noted in the image; no longer 180 day window.
