Corner shop is fine, Asda is completely fine too. Money in the account in around 5 minutes last time.

Very well accepted really, haven’t had anyone say no.

I read the limit 5-300 as 500 to 300 I was thinking maybe plus customers vs regular.

I tried it, it’s nice that they don’t need to ask which bank, you just put the card in and it recognises.

The notification says £99 deposited, we charged a £1 fee but inside the app on the transaction page it says £100 deposited, we charged a £1 fee, I think it should be consistant and I prefer the full amount, so £100 deposited.

Most people on here have a 2nd or multiple bank accounts. So pay your cash into your other account at the post office for free and as it’s cleared funds just transfer it to Monzo.

Some might, personally I’ve got just Starling and Monzo. I think back in early days this was a fair enough argument, but no high street bank would suggest you go to another bank for such basic things, and Monzo are very much competing with them now.

Yes if I had lots of cash from saying a car sale, I could pay it in with Starling, but feel it’s not fair on Starling to cover the cost of that when they don’t get day to day banking.

If Monzo said yeah you can pay in £5k say if you ask us first (for money laundering purposes) and pay say £10-20 that would be fine by me. I can’t imagine many need to pay in large sums more than a few times a decade.

Has anyone tested depositing by the post office yet?

It’s not listed as a supported bank on the Post Office website.

Can you also withdraw at the Post Office?

Poor Starling :sob:

You shouldn’t have to pay to put your own money in the bank.

Also. Who’s dealing with £5k cash?

Screams fraud/laundering to me :no_mouth:

You shouldn’t need to pay for cash withdrawals either, but it’s increasingly common.

The main reason I can think of for £5k cash is the sale of your own car privately. Yes I would prefer to pay and be paid by bank transfer, but if I had a buyer and he/she wanted to pay in cash would I refuse the sale ? Probably not (if I could bank the money)

Depends, do you have the right equipment to check each note handed over to ensure it’s not fake?

Some good fakes out there lately.

I’d never take cash for my car. I’d have to check if the notes were legit and count it 1,000,000 times and I’d still doubt myself.

Nevermind the paranoia of having all that money in my house and having to go into town with it in my pocket

No thanks :grimacing:

I do this. Pay into Nationwide and then transfer over. Would rather not pay £1 on every deposit. It all adds up over time. :woman_shrugging:t2:

I didn’t care about cash in at the post office, or cheques, but I can’t believe people care about cash out at the post office! I know there will be places where there isn’t an ATM as local but I’ve never ever, ever ever, been to the post office where there isn’t a queue!

That’s got to be close to the top of the most inconvenient places to get cash.

Also usually a cash point outside of said Post Office places (as majority seem to be inside shops/stores now).

Where else can I withdraw £1,000,000 in cash for my Monzo money gun©?

There are about 6 ATMs within a 20 min walk of where I live - not a single one works with Monzo, I have to transfer the money to another bank to withdraw. There is a postoffice though.

No clue. Instant decline. Works in other machines further away.

I understand Monzo having low deposit limits, but i do wish there where At least double their current rate. I think this would be more practical.
