So Monzo shouldnât bother with improving cash deposits? If people want to spend in cash, itâs better to keep it in your pocket than put it in a bank where youâll need your debit card to spend.
Every time thereâs a new feature, a few people come here saying itâs rubbish because it doesnât meet their niche needs. If only Monzo had some sort of data from millions of people who actually use Monzo accounts with which to base decisions on.

I think they should improve the ability to deposit cash as there is clear demand for using cash.
If Monzo didnât put so many limits on everything, this wouldnât happen, and considering people complain fairly often, I doubt their needs are that niche.

Yes, of course they will base decisions on data and profit. Monzo will probably be aware that plenty of people use other accounts to deposit cash as it is free.
This is good but please please please get rid of the ÂŁ1000 limit every 6 months as itâs too restrictive to anyone that receives cash regularly. I get paid football match fees as a referee usually in cash or cheque and I hit the limit pretty quickly last summer.
I literally only use it to get my nails done. Thereâs nowhere else I want to faff about finding my purse in the depths of my handbag when I can just scan my phone
half the people in this thread are saying why do i need to pay ÂŁ1 for a service i wont use anyway as I never have to pay in cash but if i did use it, which i wonât, why do i need to pay ÂŁ1
I think it is more about âwhy is it free when other banks donât charge for it?â. Obviously, it is because Monzo wants to pass the costs onto the user, but it is still something people will think about when comparing Monzo to other banks.
It is like if Monzo charged for their standard current account. Sure, they are perfectly entitled to, but why are they when other banks are able to let users use them for free?
