Call for Pet Pictures

It’s not as big as it looks there :joy: when he’s grown it’ll be perfect size.

The cat with no name. Sure he has an eye infection which I’ll sort this weekend, only picked him up at 12 today.

He’s hiding, but will let me stroke and give belly rubs as well as purr :face_holding_back_tears:

I’ve taken the bowls off the stand as way underestimated how small he is.

Having realised he’s full of fleas and eye infection :pensive:

He’s had a flea bath, spoilt by a heated throw in a washing basket to dry off, and now finally loving his own bed.

He’s so much fluff after his bath.

His eye also on the mend after a £90 trip to the vets Friday evening.

Anyone with a cat know how to rid them of a cold? :pensive:

I know it’s only been a few days but his poor nose is blocked af.

Is a warm home good for him? I mean, heating on even in this weather, like a human would?

Vet did say it’d possibly clear up after 5 days of the eye drops but 4 days in and doesn’t seem much improvement.

Can do without another £45.50 glance over at the vets if I can help it.

He was a bit unsure at first but was fine after, just stared at me like that the whole time while combing him and shampoo’ing him.

He came out smelling better and looking better so he can’t moan :joy:

They usually clear up with no treatment after 7-10 days. With a kitten, though, there is more of a risk of it becoming a bacterial infection (unless the vet gave him an antibiotic injection) so do take him back if it hasn’t cleared up by then.

If his eyes and nose are running, gently wipe them with a soft, clean cloth soaked in a weak saline solution (not too warm or too cold).

Fingers crossed he gets better soon!

I’ve not got him insured just yet as he’s not had a the snip, might be wrong but I’m sure it’s more expensive

He’s playful, and eyes and nose not so runny, and is eating now I’ve been putting creamy dreamy over his biscuits (guessing he cant smell them very well).

Gonna grab him some wet food and see if that works better.

Going the vets Friday if not much improvement.

My sister has a kitten from the same person, a sibling; who seems to be doing ok, so maybe I’m just paranoid.

As for the place we got him, I was warned ahead of time; it’s surprisingly someone who works the same place as me (not my team) so I will likely need to inform my manager first to prevent any backlash within the workplace.

At least he’s in better hands now.

So, he was fine this morning, then he had his biscuits and now has a blocked nose.

I’m gonna pick up some grain free food and see if that changes for him.

He just had some more biscuits and started sneezing so they’re in the bin.

I’ve gotta go past pets at home so will grab some James beloved. Think it’s turkey and rice but grain free.

Another trip to the vets as no improvement.

£114 for 6 tablets, more eye cream stuff, and syringe medicine.

It’s cat flu. He’s also losing weight, which is not good at all, but we gotta give him a fighting chance.

Picked up some meat in gravy which he happily gulped down, so probably need to bulk him up on wet food and merge him to biscuits later.

Dread to think what would have happened if he was still at the house I rescued from :disappointed:

I wish I’d not asked the vet to do the first tablet, as I will need to be up at ~4 every day (every 12 hours) to dose him up

He did say I could move it back an hour or two slowly but what’s the point, he needs his go go juice.

On the plus, he is very active and playful, and has been all the week I’ve had him.

Flat out now though.

I hope he recovers soon.

He’s eating a lot better, probably ate more from 4pm til now than he has this last week.

Also managed to put creamy over his tablet (full form) and he ate it.

Eye drops - make him a burrito in a blanket, also much easier.

Yeah I’m happy he’s got a safe home and someone willing to help him.

How is he today?

He is a totally different kitty.

Very playful, very cuddly, still congested but not sneezing as much.

I believe amoxicillin can take a few days to kick in, and it’s only been 1.5 days.

He’s eating much better, finally has his kitten belly. Probably helps he’s on mix of wet and dry.

Had a little snooze yesterday and woke up to him snuggled into my back. Then last night decided to fall asleep on my lap which my cats have never done.
