Business being flagged as potential scam

Our established business (10+ years in operation with significant transaction volume) is currently being flagged as potentially fraudulent by Monzo.

I’m trying to understand why this might be happening. The only potential discrepancy I can identify is that our business details show “Near Manchester, England” when we are actually based in London.

Has anyone else encountered a similar situation? If so, how did you resolve it?

As in someone is trying to send a payment to your business and it’s getting flagged?

Could be many reasons, none of which Monzo would disclose to you. It’s a matter for your customer and Monzo to resolve with each other.

@BenC Yes, that is correct. In this case, it was me doing a test payment on our site, so would I be able to contact support and determine why it was flagged?

If you were trying to make a payment from your own Monzo account, then you could ask support. Unsure if they would have access to the right information to help though.

Having a payment to your business flagged doesn’t mean your business is being judged in any way. A lot of payments to huge well known firms get flagged too.

It’s mostly about the customer account, not who they are trying to pay.

No, and just make the payment.

It’ll be fine, and will die off eventually once the internal risk metrics level out.
